I'm doing a maths assignment on foreign currencies. For this maths assignment I need the price of a certain item in different countries, one of which is America. Unfortunately google has proved (surprisingly) unhelpful in this venture so I'll ask you, Escapist Community. How much does a standard can of coke cost in America? (please include details such as city and source, eg vending machine/restuarant/supermarket).

Edit: Thanks all for help, got my info (and very speedy too!)

In a vending machine, at least a dollar(almost always under $2). As a 12-pack, probably something close to $.3-4. If you're in an amusement park it just gets silly. NYC suburb.

Unfortunately the reason google has been of little help to you is because there really isn't a good answer to that question. Vending machines vary in price from one establishment to the next here where I live in Stillwater buttfuckingnowhere Oklahoma. I don't drink soda anymore, unless I havn't got any other option, but back when I used to... well actually it's really rare to see anyone selling cans of coke out of vending machines. Usually it's a plastic bottle (we felt that the can was too biodegradable). Anyways, if you do see a can it'll be anywhere from 60 cents to $1, and I see bottles of soda going anywhere from $1-$3.

12 oz can is about $0.75 to $1.50 depending on what vending machine you go to. However, you can by a 12 pack for about $5.00 at most supermarkets. That comes to $0.41 a can. You can save more by buying in bulk.

In the town I live in, 50 cents in a vending machine for a can, $1.00 for a bottle, and $1.75 for a 2-litre bottle.

Around 65 cents in a vending machine usually no more than a dollar. For some off brands I've seen can go as low as 30 cents. Most stores don't even carry cans anymore but the ones that do are around the same. A small town in Alabama.

Madison, WI, 75 cents to $1 in a vending machine. In a 12-pack, the math works out to about a quarter per can.

Depends on the dealer you get it from, the purity, the amount of competition the guy has, if the police has taken some of his stuff-

Wait, the DRINK? Oh... ummm... a buck.

ummm the vending machines around where I live are $1.25
I think that's the average...wait that's for a bottle
cans might be cheaper since they hold a bit less (so I can help saying cans should be under 1.25 haha)

Well, for just a can, I'd say about $1.25, maybe... For a liter bottle, it's about your first born child... for a six pack, your right arm, for a twelve pack, your leg, and for a two liter bottle, any remaining limbs you have. :)

OT: I just drove across 2/3 of the country (Chicago to San Francisco) and I saw the price of a can of coke vary from $0.65 up to $1.25 in vending machines and a 12-pack vary in prices from $4.50 to $7.00. The standard price I quote is from a suburb of San Francisco, $0.70 in a vending machine and $5.00 for a 12-pack.

I work in a supermarket, so I'm a around this stuff all the time. Single cans of soda cost $1.05 with the bottle deposit. This is in Massachusetts btw.
