I refuse to be deprived of the glory of true horror...I REFUSE!

So, a little while ago, I got amnesia as a part of the humble indie bundle, but had a sad when I found out my specific video card doesn't work with the game. At all. No workaround, no nothing.

Now, I hear about the sequel. And how it's probably not coming out on consoles. I looked it up, they said they've thought about it, thought it was too much work, all this, and may at some point release a game on consoles, but it would be less horror but still intellectual.

Intellect...Hehehe...HAAAAAHAHAHA!

I heard the PC fanboys complain that if amnesia traveled to consoles, they'd lose all respect for frictional. I heard it all, and realised that true horror was never, ever coming back to consoles.

So, with a feverish need to experience real, actual horror once more, I turn to that which I had much cynicism of...onlive. It annoyed me with it's youtube adverts and a premise too good to be true, apparantly a distribution service that can mystically teleport the computing power you need so you can play all the latest games, even on a sh**ty lil' laptop like mine.

So, I need advice. How is onlive? Are they lying? How are the prices? How much of my soul will the interdimensional portal through which the computing power travels drink?

And why have the lords of horror forsaken me? WHY DO THEY HATE ME!?

Onlive is good if your internet connection is fast and stable enough, otherwise it can be a bit slow and laggy.

It's prices are good if you can afford them and think they're worth the service you receive, otherwise it's a bit pricey and isn't really good value for money.

Sorry for pointing out the obvious, but you're the only person who can determinate whether your internet connection is good enough for Onlive and whether you think it's prices are fair for the service as it's received on your laptop.

I don't have Onlive and would never use it because I have a powerful gaming PC but a mediocre internet connection, so my opinion would be that it's far too slow and isn't as good as the games I can play on my PC. However, from what I can gather you're in the opposite situation, you have a fairly weak non-gaming PC but a good internet connection (since you're at a University), so you're probably the type of person who'd benefit the most from a service like Onlive.

Just sign up for the free trial and assess it for yourself. Nobody can really give you much advice on a service like this as it varies from person to person, postcode to postcode.
