Ok, The time has come for me to invest in a new guitar amplifier. At the moment i'm looking at a few options, but i'm really not sure what I want. the following factors are definates:

at least 15 watts
Valve State
Combo
under 4000$au

Everything else i'm open minded to. at the moment the frontrunners are:
Vox AC30CC
Mesa/Boogie Maverick 212
please list suggestions!!!

EDIT:
for clarity's sake, my guitars are a japanese fender Telecaster and an Epiphone DOT, I use an Electroharmonix Big Muff and a Line6 Space chorus

I play rock music in most of it's varieties (not really a shredder however) and if it can support Bass as well, double points

For anything other than a practice amp you'll wanna go waaay over 15 watts..

I don't know that much about guitar amps as I am not a guitarist however I do know that a guitar amp will neverrr be able to be used with a Bass.. It will explode.

Jump over to http://www.musiciansfriend.com/ and have a gander

Hope that helps =D

Nonsense, it works fine. It just sounds like shit. Well, maybe if you crank the volume up too loud, you will break it.

It sounding like shit and breaking if its too loud doesn't sound like it words fine to me..

Bass amps are made to handle bass freq.. Guitar amps are not..

Yeah if you use a bass with a normal guitar amp you will break or at least damage it in some way.

The Vox one is nice, maybe look at an Orange as well?
They have 30 watt combos for about AU$2000 and 50 watt are about $2900 and they'd suit the kind of guitars and style you play in

For prices in Australia, check http://www.guitar.com.au, or if you're interested in an Orange I got mine from http://www.fivestarmusic.com.au
Not only were they the cheapest I could find, they also have free postage in Australia

Hope that helps you a bit

Peavey do some very good amps for not a lot of money. I've got a Bandit 112. Cost me just over £300, incredibly versatile, very nice sound to it and, no joke, it is the loudest thing I have ever heard. I listen to all sorts of loud music (thrash, death metal, etc) and I'm too scared to put the volume knob past 2, and it goes up to 10. It's that loud.
A 1x12 that does that! Go Peavey!
