Holy crap. I just saw this video on Youtube for The Old Republic. It's actually a pretty cool viral ad by EA. 1,000 times better than anything they did for Dante's Inferno.
A quick summary for those who can't or don't want to watch it. It starts off with a Darth Malgus (a major Sith Lord in the game) walking through the street. He meets up with various other Sith and Jedi who all brandish lightsabers. Then they strike posses as though they were fighting. Then suddenly various "normal" people in the crowd are shown with lightsabers striking similar posses. They don't actually fight, and while that would have been cool, I understand why they didn't. Swinging those "lighsabers" around could hurt one of the bystanders who were shown among them taking pictures. But as quickly as it began, it ends.
All in all, a great ad, in my opinion. It emphasizes the Jedi and Sith conflict, and lightsabers should be pretty iconic to anyone, while also showing that "anyone" can join. Did EA finally learn a thing or two? What's your opinion?
