I had a mountain lion for about 2 and half years. Awesome pet and awesomely expensive. In Ohio you can own exotic animals as long as their not for public display(this law may have changed been about 4 years since I've checked). There used to be an animal auction where you could buy just about anything, since shut down.

Anyways I think a serval would be cool.

A hyrax [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyrax]. Rock hyrax, preferably. Sociable, relatively small, spend most of their time chilling, so gosh darn cute and quite bizarre.

Alternatively, I would like to have Bosavi woolly rats. Gigantic fuzzy jungle rats that apparently don't fear humans at all and probably live longer than domesticated rats, which are great pets save for their tragically short lifespans.

The Cheetah is my favorite animal, so yeah I'd love to have one of them. Preferably with the same disposition as my dog Jack, so it was super loyal and friendly, but ready to defend if ever there was danger. ^^
