An Artist's Vision of a Disney Halloween

Who would various Disney characters choose to dress up as for Halloween? This fan draws his ideas.

Earlier this month, we showed you 11 of Isaiah "Izzy" Stephens' Disney heroines as pop culture icons. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/137747-Artist-Reimagines-Disney-Heroines-as-Pop-Culture-Icons]

Just in time for Halloween, Izzy's appropriately named "Disney Halloween" collection has expanded to include 27 more costumed Disney characters.

Here's a few of these Disney character's true identities (and their costumes) - but you'll have to tell us in the comments who you think the rest are!

Cinderella as Annabeth Chase (Percy Jackson series)
Aladdin as Ash Ketchum (Pokemon)
Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) as Daenerys Targaryen (Game of Thrones)
Belle (Beauty and the Beast) as Hermione Granger (Harry Potter series)
Rapunzel (Tangled) as Sailor Moon
Tiana (The Princess and the Frog) as Korra (The Legend of Korra)
Ursula (The Little Mermaid) as Beyonce

I love Aladdin's Pokemon costume (just look at Abu dressed up as Pikachu!), but my favorite is definitely Rapunzel as Sailor Moon for how perfectly their personalities mesh.

Check out Izzy's DeviantArt page [http://isaiahstephens.deviantart.com/] to see the rest of his work.

Well the best one's obviously Quasimodo as Austin Powers, with Rapunzel as Sailor Moon second. Although I must say I'm a touch disappointed, we got characters as Mako and Korra but no Bolin.

The one that was way too creepy was Cruella De Vil as Lady Gaga. In two words "FUCKING EWWW!!"

There are some that caught my eye in a good way like Jasmine as Chun-Li, Aladdin as Ash with Abu as Pikachu, or Snow White at Wonder Woman. But the one that made me laugh was Quasimodo as Austin Powers. XD That was priceless!

Slow news day, I take it? Seems like whenever that's the case we always get the Escapist writers prowling Deviant Art for more Disney pictures.

There's nothing wrong with the Escapist staff reporting on fun things every now and then, especially since today is Halloween.

This is true, however it seems like every other week we get another "story" about "Disney Characters Re-Imagined By Deviant Art Artists."

I'm pretty sure at this point, one of the staffs must be a Disney Princess fan right?

OT- Ok I suppose this is somewhat different as it does feature other characters than just the Princesses but still at this point, I am just bored with Disney character being turn from one thing into another altogether!

Not gonna lie, while I do like the art and some of the pics I really enjoyed (agreed with Aladdin and Abu) there were a good number I had the following problems:
#1 - I know the costume, but I don't know who the character is supposed to be
#2 - I don't know either the character OR the costume they're going for.

Regardless, all still good art.

See, now I'm sure I've seen all of these nearly a month back. I just can't remember if it was on the escapist (since you do disney princesses all the time), or on imgur. Either way, good to see them again. But seriously escapist, please slow down on the disney art. At least to one gallery every 2 months? Is starting to get boring.

I don't have a MEH strong enough for this. The peter pan Link got a grin but Ugh. Not sure who some of the costumes are of (like the last one), who some of the Disney characters are (Like 22 and 26), and UUUUGH 24 I can't help but think this whole thing was just a trap just to show 24.

Diggin' the Snow White as Wonder Woman, Mulan dressed as Xena(that one's pretty fitting), and Belle as Hermione(also a good match up). This might just be the Disney art style and the fact that Korra is a walking "gun show," but Tianna's arms seem disproportionally skinny to me. That Ursula is going so many desktop backgrounds as a prank.

More Disney crossovers, though? Either the artist needs a Netflix subscription with some Anime and non-Disney western animation preloaded in the queue or we need to have other subjects of his work posted.

Okay someone has to tell me who that is dressed as Johnny Bravo.
That's puzzling me, too. It can't be Gaston because he doesn't look like a total jerk (and nobody cosplays like Gaston). Maybe he's one of the generic princes from the pre-Little Mermaid era.

Most of these were okay, but I don't get why people like the Rapunzel/Sailor Moon one. She just looks dumb. As in, not the picture, but her in particular.

I mean, sure, Rapunzel was never the sharpest tool in the box, but her design as Sailor Moon has a distinct "dumb blond bimbo" vibe to it that just doesn't mesh with me. I think it's the eyes...

By the way, this also made me realize something else: while I could recognize all the female characters at first glance, I could only do so about half the time when it came to the male characters (iconic ones like Quasimodo and the Beast notwithstanding). Makes me wonder if I should demand better male representation in Disney fairy tales... :p
