I have just completed Lost odyssey and all I can say is "wow". I have a challenge for you, play this game without crying or gasping once. You will not be able to do it.
Because the story behind all the characters is so deep and they've been through so much pain in their lives, you actually care about them, and there are some truly moving, and therefore memorable moments.
The soundtrack builds on the emotion aswell, the composer is the same composer as that of some of the FF games. However you will never here any music like this, some pieces makes you want to cry and some get you pumped for battle or exploring the ocean as a pirate, etc.
It's a long game spanning over four discs, and I'm not usually a fan of JRPG's, as I dont like the whole anime look, but this doesn't have that. Another thing it goes without, which is a plus in my books, is grinding.
This game is good at the combat. You can put five characters into formation; there is a front row and a back row. The front row will protect the back row, so it makes sense to put the spell-casters at the back and the people with high HP or defense at the front. There are so many spells, swords, staffs and long ranged weapons to choose from, and you can equip your team with rings and bracelets that give them a effects such as boosting attributes or reflecting certain attacks.
good points:
storyline
soundtrack
character depth
combat
strategy involved (you may have to plan some battles to exploit weaknesses or make your party more effective)
bad points:
graphics aren't anything special, but they are pretty good considering it's an earlier 360 game.
sometimes you can get lost (but not often)
*EDIT* Sorry, I didn't make it clear that this wasn't meant to be a proper review, i wanted people to discuss their most epics games and maybe (If they wanted to) write their own short review of it.
