I know that gold has all the features that an Xbox live account could want, but Silver, it completely useless. What if we were to make it where Silver accounts for the first year get to do all the normal things they could
As time went on, silver accounts could get access to the multiplayer feature in games, but only be limited to certain playlists. Their gamertag would exist but gamer score, sending messages, and communicating with a microphone would not exist.

Makes having a silver account a reason to exist.

Also I think if you sign up on Xbox.com they give you one month free gold.

They may have stopped that due to abuse, but still that's what happens.

People just abuse the free trial on Silver accounts...

Somehow I don't think so.

Also there is plenty of reasons for silver. Not the least of which is the ability to still access the market place. As well as automatically existing for when your online time expires.
