An idea: Steam folders

An idea of mine would be to have folders in Steam. It would work in the same way of the favourites function we currently have. That little star would be replaced by a little folder and you'd be able to create the folders yourself and you could put one game in multiple folders. The favourites folder would still remain.

Please leave your comments and let me know what you think. Maybe a coder out there would be able to make the patch for it.

I guess it would work if you had far too many games and didn't like the clutter. I'd personally prefer that option in the case of uninstalled games, because my brother once bought all the Ghost Recon games under a special deal, but only after clicking purchase did he remember it was on my account, so I've got 6 useless grayed-out tabs that I'd certainly like to tuck away.

You'd be able to file both uninstalled games and installed games.

I'm sure I would, but it would only seem necessary at the uninstalled level. I don't have that much hard drive space to pile up with endless games, so to me having folders for those few would feel futile.

Sounds very simple, if Steam supported addons I'd give it a go.

You can create Steam skins, not sure how flexible that is, I doubt it would be able to sort something that changes the way games are shown in the list, just colour and where they are.

All I want is for the option to put non-steam games on your list to actually do something.

I was really hoping, first time I saw it, that I could transfer Fallout 3 to any computer with Steam on it, simply by getting on my account.

I think Steam might have listened, or at least their minds are on the same track as mine is. Hooray for the new version of steam!
