I found this on LRR.com recently, and while it's from a year ago and I'm sure some of you may have seen it already, It is a fascinating interview with a man who nobody has really given the time of daylight too. It's a very interesting, heart to heart interview, where I think we really get to see a side of Uwe Boll that isn't shown very often, or no one suspects he has. This probably wont change your opinion of his movies, but it might change your opinion of what you think of him.

For those of you who don't know, LoadingReadyRun is a sketch comedy group, who are responsible for the shows Unskippable and ENN on this very site. They're also quite hilarious.

I recall that. It was quite well done, considering that LRR isn't a professional interview site or anything.

Also, you can't make a good movie about games that are bad source material. Dungeon Siege? DUNGEON SIEGE? Wait, that actually was a decent one.

God damn you. Now I'm going to spend the next 20 minutes watching it.

Yeah, I heard about that too. I'll probably watch the interview when I have the time, though I'm about to go to bed now. I guess Uwe Boll is somewhat misunderstood in a way, but until I heard about this video I hadn't see evidence to the contrary and in fact I'd seen evidence that he was a douche (such as the way he reacted with the neasty profanity-filled emails to critics who didn't like his adaptation of Postal). But hearing about this video, it seems he's not so bad after all. His films are still crap and I'll still enjoy ranting and spewing bile about those, but not so much about the guy himself anymore...

My opinion of his movies hasn't changed but I do, in a certain way, understand where he's coming from.

[small]I am using the term 'understand' very loosely here[/small]

He seems like a very nice guy, and I love German accents. He's very good at being interviewed, too.

His movies still suck, but I won't insult him as a person anymore.

That was a great find; he seems very lax about what people think of his movies, just so long as they're open-minded about seeing them. I liked when he admitted that "In the Name of the King" was much worse than "Lord of the Rings".

I would like to see him do well and make better movies. I may even rent Postal if I have time.

His movies are god-awful. He himself is a bit of a douche. This interview didn't change my opinion of him, which isn't very high already.

I've always stuck up for Uwe Boll in Boll-bashing threads and I like the guy. I also think his movies aren't THAT bad, because they're funny. He doesn't take it too seriously and that's good. I think he should do more computer game movies, in fact I think he should do all of them. The only good ones are the ones that he's done, because at least you can have a laugh, he's got his tongue firmly in his cheek. When other directors get their hands on them they always take them too seriously and fuck it up. +1 Uwe.

If I had an interview with Uwe Boll, it would last only as long as it took to brutally murder him and hide the body...

Wow he's surprisingly convincing, makes a valid point about hating Uwe Boll movies just because they are Uwe Boll (they should be judged individually and fairly on their crappiness) and criticizing movies people haven't actually watched. His comments on the lack of diversity in film where interesting.

I do agree with what he says about Michael Bay, that most directors given 200 million could create a movie as good or better.
