The funny thing is, most people here probably think the same way but expressing that opinion means that you're "mean" and "insensitive" and all that shit.

Personally, I think it's better to be an honest asshole than a nice liar.

As for the topic:
If he was a good friend, it sucks. However, he was asking for it. It was a dumb decision and the outcome proves that. His friends and family will suffer because of this dumb decision.
To me, drunk driving equals (aside from the obvious death wish) attempting murder.

My condolences.

My cousin passed away in July due to a drunk driving accident. She was the passenger and her bf was driving and he ran into a train. I dont blame her (she wasnt driving drunk) but I do blame her bf for being an idiot. He survived and faces 3-14 years in prison for killing her and taking her away from her 2 kids. It's not right and it's not fair that these things happens.

Know how you feel bro, a few year ago when I was 14 a good friend and classmate died in a car accident because of speeding. As much as it hurts, the anger is still there about thinking it was funny to speed and cause an accident. Makes for very confused thoughts of sympathy then no sympathy.

Congratulations. This was the most inappropriate, childish, disregard for basic human courtesy of a grieving person's death I've seen in a while. You could seriously give those Westboro Baptist Church guys a run for their money.

Honestly, did no filter or lights go off in your head? Maybe a voice saying "this probably isn't a very smart thing to say.

You could get all tear-y eyed and say 'That's so bad! I feel so bad for you OP and it's a shame that somebody died so young!'. But that changes nothing. Take this as a lesson and move on.

OT: That sucks. Obviously it isn't the same, but my dog was killed by some douche drunk van driver grinding up on the pavement. My dad barely had time to boost himself up onto the wall.

1 guy from my high school died. We laughed our asses of and cheered. Cold? Sure. But the guy was a dick. Everyone knew it was a matter of time. Only horrible part about it is that he got stabbed in the throat on his wedding day, so we had more sympathy for his family and bride rather then himself.

Call it morbid curiosity, but what's the story behind that?

I was stabbed a few months ago with a letter opener (something that a quick web search revealed also happened to Martin Luther King, which is interesting), in any case, it healed well so the scar isn't too impressive besides being four inches long from where the blade gashed.

In any case, a lot of people are taking the piss out of it despite the fact that I incapacitated my attacker, limped home, and lost around three pints of blood before being able to clean the wound with alcohol bind it up unassisted. According to what sources I can find, after three pints I should have fainted. And yet they laugh. I'm not traumatized or anything (though that was one of the jokes they made) but I'd appreciate a little sensitivity on the issue.
