An Outrage!

I was watching tv today flipping through the channels and i came across a movie called Slap Shots 3. Now here is where my problem starts, sure it had the Hanson brothers in it but other than that it was a movie that was made for kids and had nothing to do with the Slap Shots 1 and 2, they took a great concept and movie series and turned it into complete crap so it could have a chance to be popular with kids.

To be fair, I've never even heard of Slap Shots 1 or 2. When I saw the title, my first thought was a feature-length movie all about being slammed in the nuts.

What did you expect? Kid movies always bring in the most money, when compared to other movies for target audiences. Just one more example of money grubbing idiots filling their pockets.

I can't help but think of the anecdote where a reporter asked Stephen King if he was angry that filmmakers were ruining his books. King then got up pointed to the books on his shelves and said, "They aren't ruined, they are right here absolutely fine"

(I am of course paraphrasing and I believe the original anecdote was about a different author but you get the point)

Anyway, just because a remake or a crappy sequel is made it by no means ruins the original. Slap Shots 1 and 2 are still just as good.

The same thing happened with the Ace Ventura series, not that the second one was up to snuff anyways.
