So this afternoon I opened up my email and read an email courtesy of GamespotAU:

Congratulations! You've been chosen as a winner to attend GameSpot LIVE's exclusive Blood Bullets Blades event this Thursday, January 20 that will offer a preview session to EA titles Crysis 2, Bulletstorm, Dragon Age 2 and Dead Space 2!
You'll be amongst the first in Australia to check out and play these epic titles, plus you'll have the chance (as a GameSpot AU community exclusive!) to meet and chat to Shereif Fattouh, gameplay producer, the creative mind behind the enemies, combat, controls, and level mechanics of Dead Space 2 game!
You and a friend will be treated to a night of epic game play and thanks to our event sponsors Electronic Arts and Red Bull, we also have some awesome prizes for those that make the effort to dress up as the characters of their chosen game (Cosplay will be well rewarded!). You'll have the chance to get in-game character photos, special effects wound makeup and pre-order the games you like through EB Games who'll also be coming to the party!
NOTE: To enter the competition I put down my game of choice as Dead Space 2.
Sounds great right? There's only one problem - I'm not 18 or over. This is the kind of thing that I put my name down for even though I'm not old enough just for the novelty. I never actually expected to win. What's worse is that three of the four games that are being showcased (BulletStorm, Dead Space 2, Dragon age 2 and Crysis 2) I have preorders for and I'm impatiently waiting for them to come out. All the games there are rated 15+ but I guess it's got to do with legal stuff and that's why you need to be 18+.
So tell me Escapists, has anything like this happened to you before? Have you not been able to attend an awesome event for some silly reason?

Actually you should auction them off and give the proceeds to the QLD Flood Appeal.
