Big Turk
Nestle© Chocolate Bar
Food Facts: Calories- 230, Fat- 3g, Carbs-50g
May contain traces of peanuts/nuts

Remembering eating these as a snack from coming home from the local Boy Scouts/afterschool meet, I thought I would share my opinion of the NOM-oscity of the most often forgotten or unheard of chocolate treat.

Basic Info

Nestle has made a delicious discovery by turning the old fashion treat of Turkish delight and has transformed it into a chocolate bar. For those of you who don't know, Turkish Delight is jelly-like snack made with sugar and starch, and is usually covered in icing sugar. The Nestle company has then, taken said idea, only instead of covering it with icing sugar, instead covering it with milk chocolate, and transforming it into a bar for easy access and eating.

Taste

While having the classic milk chocolate taste, the added variety of the Turkish Delight to the mix, gives it a whole new taste all on its own. The Turkish Delight gives it a thick, strawberry jelly/jam sort of taste to it, but now mixed with chocolate, it has a delectable taste that creates a party in your mouth.

Final Verdict

While having it a unique taste, it may not be for everyone, but for those who do enjoy it, they will be instantly hooked and craving more. More available in Canada, than in the United States, if you ever come across one, pick it up, buy it, and give it a taste!

I give it:

5 NOMs out of 5

I hate you so much right now.
That looks absolutely delicious and I'm so far away from the Canadian border. So very far away.
Ah, well. At least we have Cow Tales.

...And here I was expecting a Monty Python reference. Well, at least you were correct in saying it was completely different.

And I don't see why people would like such a treat. I mean, Nestle? Doing a spin on Turkish Delight? Wow. Turkish Delight is a really really old treat. Think, Lewis Carrol old. (References are in the Chronicles of Narnia.)

I've never liked Turkish Delight, to be perfectly honest, and I don't think a chocolate-covered version will make it any more appetizing to me. In grade four, after reading the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe in class, our teacher brought in some Turkish Delight for us to try. It had sounded so good in the book... But only two or three people in our class of twenty two actually liked the stuff (besides our teacher, of course). /storytime

A... food review...

I've never had Turkish delight but have always wanted to try it. Maybe I'll look out for one of these somewhere.

I have a poster in my room with a bunch of smilies, # 42 is a Llama!

Also, i thought you might like having a big turk in your mouth.

Edit: Isn't Turkish delight that food that is only ever eaten by evil people in books? I don't really like the stuff. But to be fair, I've never tired this particular candy bar.

If you're in the UK you will know this is a copy of something that has been around and selling well here since the 60s.

Aww..uncalled for pun is uncalled for...

Ohh, also I forgot to add, it comes in double pack called a Big'r Turk

So now you can have 2 Big Turks in your mouth at the same time!!!
-setting himself up for more bad puns-

Edit: Also I did not know about the UK one, since I was born in Canada, the Big Turk variety is the only one that I have been encountered with. But you can never have too much of a good thing, so if I get a chance to make my way over to the UK, I'll make sure to pick one up along my travels.

Sounds tasty. I've never tried turkish delight, but, like Empireth, I first heard of it in The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, and have wanted to try it ever since. I'll be keeping an eye out for one if I'm ever north of the border.

I like Turkish delight. I like chocolate. I should like this. But I live in Australia and have never seen these. Oh well, many of you will never try the pure awesomeness that is Cherry Ripe and Tim Tams.

Ever had the English Turkish Delight version? It's nice but I always thought it had a slightly soapy aftertaste to it... and they're so bloody small!
