She used to not be so bad with the anti-game crap, but ever since she saw the Airport scene on TV she's been a ***** about it. I love her, but she's stubborn.

And as for your second bit, today's scientific/historical 'Facts' may prove to be outright bullshit in a thousand years (except the history of the 'counted' years (year 0 and up)..

I mean, 500 years ago it was a fact that the world was flat and years ago it was also a fact that everything in the world consisted of any combination of the four elements..

If I understand what you're saying, they're trying to remove racism by being inadvertly (sp?) racist? I hate that too, one girl in my class complained that the teacher gave her a lower mark because of her accent (she was chinese), now its a rule to not write your name on your big english projects, you get your work back because it has you're student number on it.

Well, I'm in love. I read through this and saw the obvious answers (bastards in general, animal cruelty...) but then I saw my own personal hatred posted right there.

I've been on this planet for a few years now and I've never met anybody who dislikes tomatoes the way I do.

There are tomatoes in every meal ever.

That's what research is for. Yes, current scientific/historical knowledge will probably be quaint and outdated in a few hundred years, but for the moment, it's the closest we can come to fact. Blindly believing something that any number of deluded, anonymous writers contrived thousands of years ago over what the current scientific community takes as fact..... that's what gets to me.

And your part about the flat Earth is pretty much entirely wrong. The Earth was proven to be round over two and a half thousand years ago, and the philosopher who proved it 2200 years ago (Erastothenes then proceeded to calculate the circumference of the Earth to within a ten percent margin. By the Middle Ages, no-one really believed the Earth was flat anymore.

The part about the four elements is true, I concede you that, but from the end of the Middle Ages and the beginning of the Renaissance onwards alchemy gradually gave way to natural science founded on empirical principles. And by the eighteenth century at the latest, the four elements theory had been soundly proven wrong.

Sorry for the sort-of rant, but, well..... case in point.

But yeah I get offended when people make religious people out to be some cult-following knuckleheads who would commit suicide and take the whole world with them if a book would tell them to. Only select groups of Christians (well, select groups of Roman-Catholics), Muslims, Jews and all other religious people would actually do that and are actually like that. It's just that those people are the only ones who get attention or are highlighted..
