seriously, though, I find animal hyrids, admitingly mainly cat hybrids, oddly amazing. It's like, well taking the genes of 2 or more species and mixing them together to show off something very new.

1 other example that caught my attention was the Grizzly-Polar bear hybrid, behold:

Personally, I'm wondering if we'll ever get to the point of gene splicing for cosmetic/military purposes in the future. What happens when furries are the fashion of the day for the rich and the celebrities, and when it gets to youth culture? What will it be like to watch soldiers with faster reflexes or more strength that seem inhuman to a degree?

Probably all sci-fi, but it's an interesting subject.

Has there ever been a hybrid of domestic cat and a big cat? like a house-cat/lion hybrid or something? I know it sounds strange, but does anyone have any idea what that would be like?

Serious comment: All of these hybrids are really amazing. It's fascinating to me how just which parent is which gender can cause fairly major changes in the resulting animal-spock

This does oddly drive me to bring something up:

Its mechanically (and i'm pretty sure genetically) impossible. The lion cub is LARGER than a house cat, so either you have a lioness give birth to a half house-cat, or you explode a house-cat.

But its probably impossible genetically, to much differentiation in the species.
