I liked the whole "it's only a small jump" bit when referring to 'pointing and clicking' to 'buying a rifle, pushing it through an animals mouth, and firing.'

These people obvious have a PHD in Truthology.

He says it's a small difference between firing a video game gun and a real gun?
To quote Yahtzee, they're as close as my arse is from the dark side of Europa.

I don't kill animals because of video games.

I kill them because it's 5 a.m., the air is almost literally frozen, and the only sound for miles in any direction is the grass crunching as they come closer. The adrenaline pounding through your brain as you try to hold in your breath and wait until the moment is just right. The cold smell of rifle grease as you rise out of cover, take aim, and know the sound that will be that creature's last.

I also eat the thing, so whoever shot the critter and left it lying out is an asshole.
Agreed.Eating homemade jerky as i type.

Anyway, How in the good lords name does playing as a 7-foot tall space marine shooting unendingly at Various species of Nazis,Zombies, and Nazi-Zombies have anything to do with killing Animals?

"so games are giving the youth these days something to enjoy and have fun with what should we do?"
"I say, do a shit ass study where we connect video games to violence, murder, rape, and animal killing."
"sounds good,let's do it."

I mean come one, video games are here for pleasure. Most people don't play a game and go " hey I wanna kill people now." unless they were already messed up in the head. A good thing comes and people have to make it look bad. Why don't you turn on the twilight series for making teenage girls more annoying, or vampires stupid. Huh? huh?!

I hate how people blame games for impressing the behaviour. I would think in many cases these games would act as a relief. For those inclined to shoot such animals, it would be preferred for them to do so virtually, rather than actually buying a rifle and head out on the roam

Wait, wait, what? He's blaming animal slaughter...on video games. Is he or is he not aware that the vast majority of video games don't even feature the ability to hurt animals? And what about the fact that those that produce meat products are MUCH, MUCH more guilty of 'animal slaughter,' as he puts it?!

What is this I don't even...

Lets just blame video games for everything shall we? What's going to be blamed on games next I wonder. I'm starting to get really sick and tired of this bull.

No, see the kinds in question who hurt animals and have an "empathy deficit" are in fact sociopaths. They were that way before video games and will be after. They like violent video games for some of the same reasons we do (competitiveness, entertainment, etc) but also because it provides a simulation for a violent action and puts them in a position of power. Claiming that games should be limited or banned outright because they appeal to sociopaths though, is much like claiming that Coca Cola should be banned outright or limited because a sociopath might be drinking it.

We're not the only creatures that kill other animals for no good reason. Name one non-human species that does this AND plays video games (this isn't to tempt people to bring out their photo-shopped pictures of gaming animals; I'm serious).

Besides, killing animals for pleasure has been around since... pretty much the first civilizations, actually.

And these people don't seem to consider that those animals might be getting shot by hunters. For their meat (and possibly other parts). Which is more or less why they're on the damned planet in the first place.

conservative writer Bill Croke
I thought conservatives were into hunting, and also what about the people who don't play violent video games and go out and hunt anyways?
