it seems like any animal term that refers to a female is a bad thing, IE *****, cow.... I suppose mare (sounds a bit condescending) but on the other hand those same animals when you refer to the male term and use them with a guy are more of a compliment stud, bull... dog.. (ok maybe not a compliment but not really an insult either)

are there any animal terms that arnt an insult for women out there?

Calling a girl a cougar means she's old but thinks she's still sexually attractive to younger guys.

Well not really, they're self proclaimed so its not an insult. They've passed milf and went to 'old geezer'.

You make a good point. I can't think of any animal words that aren't derogatory when used towards females.

Well Doe isn't so bad. Not much of a compliment but usually not an insult.

Edit: Vixen can kind of go both ways too.

Hen. Scottish people use it in the same way you'd say "dear" or "honey". Not an insult but probably a bit sexist.

I believe Vixen is one. Vixen is the term for a female fox by the way.
oh yeah vixen, thats pretty much a compliment altho it seems like anything used for a woman can really be both depending on the circumstances

I suggest thinking about this historically, with female being the derogatory quality. Hence any name for a female animal came to have a pejorative interpretation.
