Ok, we all know how Peta felt about people killing angry attack dogs, but lets hear about some other uses of dogs, and other animals,in war,
Here's one: In Russia, when Germany invaded, they tried training dogs to run under tanks, then they strapped lever activated bombs to the dogs' backs, creating ANTI-TANK DOGS. The problem was, the dogs would try to get under the Russian tanks just as often as the German tanks, so you had these bizarre scenario's where a tank would run away from a dog.

Lets here some about some other animal war heroes and animal war flops

I think that America was going to have bats carry incendiary bombs during WWII, but it became obsolete when the A-bomb arrived.

Dolphins and seals as minesweepers, because of their sonar I think. They also tried to let pigeons guide bombs. Sometimes the military really resembles Willy E. Coyote.

Back in 2003, America gathered the glorious coalition of the willing (or how ist was called)consisting of countries like poland, samoa and lots of tiny 3rd world republics (no offence meant to residents of those countries).
Some islands, even too small to have a standing army offered to send thousands of trained monkeys to trigger mines as their contribution to the war effort.
Eat that, Terrorism!

this is just awesome. this is quoted from: http://www.allempires.com/article/index.php?q=Unconventional_Animals_in_the_History_of_Warf

Arguably the most brutal use of dolphins was the United States? ?Swimmer Nullification Program? during the Vietnam War. The dolphins were at first trained to seek out Vietcong divers

and alert their masters of the diver?s presence.

The dolphins excelled at their job, and were soon promoted to a more aggressive stance. The program soon incorporated training which taught dolphins to tear off the unidentified diver?s face mask, flippers and air-tube and drag him to American Navy personnel for interrogation, back at the shore.

Once again, the exceptionally bright dolphins surpassed all expectations and knives were attached to their rostrums. The dolphins could then kill divers on the spot, by driving the knife into them.

Subsequently, the Marines theorised a far more sadistic and entirely unnecessary tactic. They fastened hypodermic syringes to the Dolphins? rostrums, filled with pressurised Carbon Dioxide. What happened as a result was truly horrific. 40 Vietcong divers were injected throughout the war, literally ?blowing up? due to the pressurised Carbon Dioxide in their blood. 2 US divers suffered this fate too, by mistake.

It was floating in my mind and i couldn't remember where I saw this...until now!

It is just a hilarious idea for future wars. I vote for giving these poor creatures at least tiny helmets. That would be incredibly cute and distracts the enemy!

Am I the only one here who thinks this is just about the best story ever? The only way it could be better is if you added hookers.
