Animation

So I've been deep in thought about ideas for the Film Festival, and I finally got one that I really like. Problem is, I don't know how to animate, so my question to the people here is this:

How can I learn to create an animated video, and what programs would I use OR is there anyone here that knows how to animate and can help me out.

Hmm... well the most basic one I can think of is Flash MX. Although it takes a while to get the hang of it xD

My girlfriend has been animating Flash for years, so if you want to do it, that's the way to go. So long as you can compress years of experience into the time between now and the deadline.

I do 3D animation, so if you're up for that, Maya/XSI/3DSMAX is the way to go.

Flash animation is pretty easy. You just need to get familiar with the time line, layers, and tweening. The question is are you willing to draw that much or are you comfortable with output the quality of south park?
