budokai tenkaichi 3 is much better than budokai 3 for the record

and dont call it the playstation era
if not that, what would you call it? The N64 didn't have many games with anime aesthetics and very few people in the US owned a Sega Saturn. The PlayStation clearly is the most iconic system for the period of gaming I'm attempting to describe.

you could call it many things
doesnt neccessarily mean you the word the word era, as that implies that the most iconic thing of the time was the playstation, which is wasn't
remember, playstation was released around the same time as the internet started to pick up along with home computers

call it the playstation days or whatever, but dont define that period by playstation

and anyway, n64 was miles better anyway even if it didnt sell quite as well, there's more to games than anime aesthetics and n64 had mario 64 - the father of 3d platforming done well and ocarina of time - the pinnacle of the graphics, gameplay and puzzles available for any system at the time

I always take those with a grain of salt because anime and video games should not always go hand in hand. They are very different ways of telling stories. There are some good ones. Hell, there are some great ones but it pays to be picky and not just buy the logo.

The .hack games are an example of a cheap grab at more cash, in my opinion. While the first few established some interesting mechanics and added to the universe, the later games have been the same mechanics with different look wrapped into them. It only makes sense to go for the "cheap pop" from your dedicated anime fans, but how many more people would buy the games if they were actually developed better?
I found the original .hack games to be good anime games because they were a branch of a larger beings though each instalmernt were crimanly short, part 2 and 3 should have been one game.It also had a nice feature to carry your levals and items between games. The story was good and didn't hinge on the anime, but a liking of the anime did enhance you experince but was not mandotory

How has no one mentioned the fist of the north star arcade machine with the punch pads? Hitting the hundred crack fist was intense.
A damn fine game. Wish I had one of those in my house. Maybe one day!

Is Oni based on an anime? It's anime style at least. A great game.
