in every anime the third main male character fits your bill.
but really,Ritsu Sohma.from Fruits Basket.
a kind yet utterly depressed young man.he is a bit of a romantic.
He apologizes frantically for everything, even if its not his falt, and is carrying a lot of emotional baggage.
a petty cool guy.
the only thing is that he often dressed as a woman because he said that he felt less pressure from the world.
