I know we're not supposed to say "none of them" but I cannot honestly think of a single anime series that would be "enhanced" in any way by an adaptation into a live-action film. The most a live-action version can hope to do is draw attention to the original series, which means your multi-million dollar motion picture is nothing more than an expensive commercial.
The problem with adapting a well-known, bestselling, and much-loved series is that no one would settle for a small-budget independent film of it, even if that crew is far more dedicated and appreciative of the source. Instead, we want these big-budget Hollywood producers and A-List stars and directors, but only because we can't imagine a small, indie film made by unknowns; it's easier and more fun to dream-cast when you know all the players.
Okay, I'm not going to be completely closed-minded about this: I wouldn't mind a live-action film that borrows the setting of an anime series. A spin-off would allow you to focus on other characters and create something able to stand on its own, but with enough nods and references that the hard-core fans don't feel alienated. For example, Outlaw Star had Angel Links, a series almost completely unrelated to the original except by way of setting and a few characters. If Angel Links had been live action instead of animated, there wouldn't be any fuss or hullabaloo about what actor would play Gene Starwind or Jim Hawking or Shimi or Hazanko, because they wouldn't be there. You'd have a little side-story, with all the staples and conventions of Outlaw Star, that can stand completely on its own, but can still appeal to the fans.
