One of my favourite short anime series that I have seen in recent times, Noir seems to be rather unknown in the anime community.

So I ask ye, who has seen this series? I might consider doing my first review for it (I don't know what the hell it is around here that makes reviews so tempting), it's a toss up between that and Perfect Blue.

Anyway here's the wiki entry. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noir_(anime)

Who's heard of it? Do you like it? I honestly don't expect many posts here, hell just post if you haven't for bump purposes, I'll be damned if I can't find at least two other people.

It's far too unpredictable these days. Seeing as you are American, you probably have a fair few, but I guess the popular stuff would be the Adult Swim block?

I have DVDs of it though.

Do the reveiw on it, also you have inspired me to watch at least the first 5 episodes and afterwards I shall share my thoughts.

Sci-fi has Animondays and adult swim on saturdays shows anime all night long. I dont know if either of those show it though. Spike has also shown anime on rare occasions.

Nice, 5 or 6 episodes should be around the point where you will definitely know whether you like it or not. I'll have to watch the anime again though just so I don't miss anything, but I'll probably go through the episodes like free back scratchers in a crack house.

Yes, that was poor. I'll go die in a fire now.

Adult Swim is Cartoon Network? Anyways I should get back into an anime, last one I watched was Outlaw Star, that was DAYS ago. And I stopped watching DBZ after Cell got capped.

Damn. I thought this was going to be a thread about noir anime in general. Then I would have gotten to hype The Big O [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Big_O] again.

Err... haven't seen it. Guess that I'll have to give it a shot now.

I lol'd. And capped he did get, you don't really need to watch it after that, that's where it should have ended (though I can't stand Gohan, so him being the new saviour would have stressed me out).

Well after Cell every damn person had the same bloody power. OH NOES ITS A GUY WHO CAN ABSORB ALL OUR POWERZ, LETS GO SUPAR SAYEIN (n+1). And then they kill off two of the guys who try and take him (always a him since freeza) out alone. They've have almost completely ignored the [b/]dragon ball[/b] part when Cell was around.

True that, true that. I would still like the Buu saga if it wasn't so damned extensive. DragonBall Kai should make short work of that, it's supposed to be a remastered version that cuts out all the bullshit.

We (Britain) had one no name channel that happened to show Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in The Shell, all. The. Time. You guys are lucky.

Oh, and for what it's worth, I think the English dub was actually pretty decent overall.

I've heard of it, watched ADV's trailer of it, and have one of the songs from it somewhere in my music collection, but I've yet to see it myself. I am interested in doing so, though.

I just finished watching Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu recently, and I contest this. I'm fond enough of Crispin Freeman's Kyon and Johnny Yong Bosch's Itsuki to be a heretic (I do prefer Aya Hirano and Minori Chihara to Wendee Lee and Michelle Ruff, but the latter two still voice their characters well).

Not always. Apparently Cowboy Bebop has a dub superior to the original Japanese. A lot of english dubs are pretty crap, though. Here's the bad dubbing of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha (specifically A's), aka that show I'm always pimping:

Ok, Hayate's voice is pretty ok.

As for Noir, unfortunately, I haven't seen it. I'll probably get around to it when I'm not being a bum and wasting time on Tv Tropes.

I agree with you for the most part, but I don't really hear a difference between Yuki's English voice and Japanese voice, as both are very monotone. And I slightly prefer Aya Hirano to Wendee Lee, but the latter grows on you.

I've seen it. I thought it was all right, but there were ones I liked more around that time, so I just kinda watched it and forgot about it. It definitely don't think it was bad, but I didn't think it was great either.

I've seen it. It was a fun watch. It had some great music and action sequences, but the storyline for it got a little... convoluted, despite the premise being pretty straightforward. I also have the other two series done by the same guy (Madlax and El Cazador de la Bruja) but haven't gotten around to watching them yet.

Try the internet, that's what I do. Sci fi channel airs some anime, but from what I know only two: Gurren Lagann and Rave Master, the latter being a show no one really cares about. Adult Swim also shows some, but not that often anymore for some reason.

I saw a few episodes of this, in a cinema screening. The animation was so terrible that people were actually laughing in the aisles, especially during the action scenes. It was actually embarrasing to watch, I felt sorry for the creators of it. About a third of the audience walked out.

I haven't seen it yet, though I do own the dvd's. I'm thinking I'm going to watch it after I finish Blue Gender.
