Meh, the only character I actually liked was Nana. It was far to gory and angsty. I really liked the first episode as everything was used to great dramatic effect, however it just got really dull and predictable as it was just continuous throughout the series and left no respite for the audience. Nyuu was a terrible character, just seemed like a rip-off of Chii combined with Tetsuo. When she was in her badass mode I liked her more until the end when she went all boring like all the other characters. It just seemed like they were shoving all the horror in your face: LOOK at the BLOOD, LOOK she's NAKED, LOOK a new character I wonder what HORRIBLE backstory they have?

Not a fan, go watch Chobits.

It was ok, and I found myself identifying strongly with Lucy in her quest for bloody revenge against a world which rejected her. Though it felt quite cheap at times, and the storyline is rather tacky. I'd rather have read the manga first.

It definitely deserves a 24-episode remake, with more character and story depth.

It's good for the first viewing, because it is something innovative and different, when compared to other mainstream anime, but upon repeated viewings, you realize more and more just how...terrible the writing, plot, and characters are.

It's great. First real anime I ever saw, with the exception of Pokémon. Weirdly enough, the anime is actually much better than the manga, except for some small details that noone but me actually cares about.

WAAAAAY too grimdark and depressing. I've seen just about every Evangelion thing there is, and none of that holds a candle to the piles on top of piles of sad and depressing shit they put these characters through in the first six episodes alone. I couldn't even get halfway through the series before it got to be too much. There's sad, and then there's THAT, with only a puppy to lighten the mood, and apparently something horrible even happens to the puppy. Nope, tried it, don't like it, not gonna finish it.
