Otherwise anything by Studio Ghibli, or the *first* Ghost in the Shell.

Or if you are after something funny, Nadesico, it will keep you laughing for days. (And its Eng dubs are on par with with the Jap dubs, but the same can be said for everything I have mentioned)

I'd recommend Berserk and FLCL. Keep in mind, It's been a while since I've watched any anime, but I recall both of them being very good.
