Annoying interruptions while gaming

Happened to me before. Mostly when I wasn't in a PvP situation so I could just chill out for a bit to talk, but she really does come at bad times. Especially one time when I went downstairs before I started and asked if she wanted to talk. She says no, so I go upstairs, and then 15 minutes later she walks up and wants to have a 2 hour heart to heart.Gincairn said:

The other day I was playing capture the flag and I was guarding. Everything was going good - we were winning! - until my mum calls me and tells me she wants to ask me something. I shut pause my game, tell my teammates I'll be right back, and then shut my mic off.
When I get downstairs I still have my headset on and I can hear my teammates screaming about how they lost the flag and how they were getting killed, and my mother is asking me if I want pizza.
When I got back upstairs it was too late and we lost the match.
It's worse when she calls me down to ask me to bring down her laundry. Or she's wondering when I'll come downstairs. And I have to come down at that point - if I tell her "never" she'll be upset.

I gotta go with my ex gf, in the situation where i would spend the entire day with her, get home, switch on my ps2 (this was a while back) and start playing a game, and the fecking phone would ring, it was my ex, calling me, to talk, even though we'd spent the entire day together, and then after the phone call i get an endless barrage of texts, and if i dont text back within 10 minutes, i get more texts asking whats wrong and why arent i texting back...this happened every fecking day!
Also when you've been playing a game for hours and you forget to save, and you have a power cut, i'd been playing a game for 3 hours straight, go so absorbed i forgot to save, and then the power went, i couldnt even look at the box for at least a month

Lock your game-room doors, order the pizza earlier, before a big raid, arena, war, or pvp in general, and wait til the pizza arrives before you start the game. Unplug your phone and shut off your cell.
This will solve 99% of the problems listed here.
Pre-emptive rebuttles:
Then GET a door/a lock on your door.
Then dont bother eating.
Unless you're waiting on lawyers or something, phone calls are rarely that important.
Me? I don't have a door, I eat what's in the fridge, and my cell phone is for outgoing calls only. I solved the door problem thusly:
Someone stands in front of the TV? Punch them in the balls and they stop doing it.
Someone talking your ear off? "Fuck off mom." The bickering and whining she does 3 rooms away because she cant 'deal with you' is a lot easier than having her talk your ear off at 3 feet. After a while my family learned that the only response they'd get out of me while I was on the xbox was "fuck off x." Consistancy is key here.
Honestly though there is absolutely no reason games today should not have a Pause and Skip function on their cutscenes. That's bullshit right there.

well i had a pet rat and he got loose he was gone for a week and i gave up.. but his ass showed up while i was in the middle of playing poral and chewd through the dam power cord of my ps3... needless to say that it interupted me when i saw a big spark from the back of my entertainment system and i find a charred rat behind the tv

Whenever one of my sisters came in when I was playing Arkham Asylum, going "A batman game? Hahaha!". It gets SO irritating after a while. They still think batman is a kids figure because of the Animated series in the 90s, even though they've both seen Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

When my parents ask me to do something incredibly simple on their computer when i'm playing Rock Band.

Moist of the time it's my mom. I don't really mind it when I'm not playing something that demands attention like AC2 because it can be paused. However, if I'm playing MW2 online or something I become extremely annoyed especially if I'm playing with my friends.
And reading these reasons is why I love my parents. Whenever I go back home for a few days, I bring my Xbox. Instead of interrupting me in some way, my mom will actually sit down and watch me play. This is especially awesome in games like Mass Effect and DA:O where I can educate her about games and help her get away from the negative stereotypes. Granted it is annoying answering questions sometimes, but she only does it during combat, not cutscenes, and I'd rather have her educated, then being like my Grandparents and thinking that all games are, and I quote, "Bull Shit."
