Ok, the Phrase "you can't have your cake and eat it too" makes me want to punch people in the kidneys because if I have some cake I damn sure want to eat it, I mean why wouldn't I? What phrases make you crazy mad?
That's because that's a bastardisation of the saying "you cant eat your cake and have it to" meaning you can't have everything. I know this because I'm the same but I looked it up after so long to correct peopleNoSlottedToaster said:Ok, the Phrase "you can't have your cake and eat it too" makes me want to punch people in the kidneys because if I have some cake I damn sure want to eat it, I mean why wouldn't I? I hate you.BudZer said:"Well that's a double edged sword." Just because everything is a double edged sword, even single edged swords, because, ya know, one side is sharp but the other side is kinda dull and you can't really do anything with it.
"I'll give you the warm fuzzy." What the fuck did you just say?
"Let's touch base." Trust me, honey, you ain't touching none of my bases.
Used by a similar demographic, and equally deserving in that special hell, is "Do I look bothered?" or, more likely "Do ah luk bovvad?!" to which the correct answer is "Yes, yes you do. You are glaring and raising your voice, indicating an increase in stress."Golden Gryphon said:"At the end of the day..." I had never heard this until I moved to England. It is favoured by football players and other idiots. I once heard someone using it in every single sentence they said, sometimes twice. I can not begin to describe the very special hell this phrase sends me to.
At least that is just them copying a comedian. "At the end of the day" appears to have come into existence for the sole purpose of driving me slowly insane. The Maddest March Hare said:Used by a similar demographic, and equally deserving in that special hell, is "Do I look bothered?" or, more likely "Do ah luk bovvad?!" to which the correct answer is "Yes, yes you do. Oh noes, my friend, a lot better than "I like Uwe Boll movies"Jumping_Over_Fences said:"I like Michael Bay movies." This one is probably the worst.
I would like to disagree with that statement. Mainly because no one says they like Uwe Boll movies (although House of the Dead is a guilty pleasure, it is just so damn bad). However, these days a lot of people say they like Michael Bay and more people know who he is. Not as many people know about Uwe Boll.romitelli said:Oh noes, my friend, a lot better than "I like Uwe Boll movies"Jumping_Over_Fences said:"I like Michael Bay movies."
