Annoying presumptions

Presumptions. Don't they get really annoying sometimes? It can certain be anger-inducing when ignorant people talk about something as though they know everything about it, simply because they believe in common misconceptions.

What types of presumptions particularly annoy you? It doesn't have to be presumptions about gaming, any kind of common ignorant statement made about some kind of passion, interest, etc, of yours are welcome here. Explain to us why that misconception is wrong!

For me, the presumption of juggling can get me annoyed - as a semi-professional juggler, it annoys me when people say that you need to throw stuff in the air for something to count as juggling. WRONG. Juggling includes things that rarely end up in the air, such as diabolo, contact juggling, or other such props. People, usually very opinionated people, believe they know about what is called 'the Tuskegee Incident.' They don't.

I won't rehash it, but suffice it to say a lot of people have been lied to and should shut up. What's worst is when I see people on TV reference it, and no one calls them on their misinformation. Because then people that are watching start to believe it, too.

Im diabetic so I can't eat sugar AT ALL...thats an irritating presumption which I get all the fucking time.

Once at my friends house a few years ago, her mum had baked a cake and was giving people some to try and went to me "Oh...I know you can't eat this, so I got you this" and gives me an apple.

Oh and I'm also colour blind so I see in black and white apparently... /sigh

I can go around the internet and pretend I know everything about reasoning, tactics and the balance of global power and 90%+ of the time they just assume I know what I'm talking about
