Real talk: has anon ever done anything that enacted actual change, or has it always been this low-level, petty shit?

They certainly seemed more impressive back in the day, but maybe that's just me.
There's a place for low-level petty stuff, if it's done right, and Anon did do some decentish, if rather minor, stuff back in the day. But always liked to talk themselves up to be a much bigger deal than they are. Oh, and like V for Vendetta too much.

As far as I'm aware it's always been stupid, petty bullshit. They talk about doing big things, but then just pull off something that just hurts everyone involved before retreating to whatever shitty forum they inhabit for they next year or four while jerking each other off.
For all they used to talk themselves up did any of their childish antics ever accomplish anything. Because I don't remember it doing so.
The Scientology leaks actually turned into a rather big deal, I think.

Well we have that show "Scientology and the Aftermath" so if Anon had anything to do with that I suppose that something.

This is what happens when people don't think before they act.

I may not like him, but I would not go as far as to try to destroy his life and expose his family to scorn.
This is what he deserves. He's been trying to do this for years and years with people yelling "No"

Did you even see his video mocking how people should use the internet according to corporations?

I hope he dies soon.
Yes I did see that video, or rather I saw Jim Sterling's video on that video. I still fail to see what this accomplishes. It's not going to reverse the FCC vote. It's not going to change that dickhead's mind. Far more likely it's going to turn people against supporting Net Neutrality.

The vote already happened. It's over. Haven't seen the report of any mass casualties yet. You'd think with 300 million people having just died, it would be on the news.

Kind of petty revenge. But then, I don't buy the "this will just give him more reasons to crack down on the Internet" line of thinking, either. He didn't screw over Title II protection of the Internet because he was "cracking down" on anyone- he did it because he's a tool of telecom companies empowered by a boss who thinks that anything that pisses off people who don't like him must be a good idea, even if it entails setting his own house on fire.

Pai made a crappy, but entirely predictable, decision. This is Anonymous' crappy, but entirely predictable, reaction. If I thought it might make someone with the power to enact change re-think their policies on Net Neutrality, I might be tempted to wonder if the ends justified the means, but it won't. I'm somewhat sorry for Pai's family, who don't deserve blowback from their relative's decisions or the reactions to them.

"Fuck up the lives of" =/= "instantly kill".

I vaguely recall them annoying the shit out of the church of Scientology somehow. That was way back.

*Edit* I see someone beat me to that point.
