Anonymous Deletes CBS, Universal Sites; is Xbox Live Next?

The CBS takedown wasn't your regular DDoS attack because if you went to CBS.com at the time Anon attacked it, there was nothing except an index page with a single file. That's it. Basically, Anonymous gained access to CBS.com and deleted EVERYTHING.

I can currently access both CBS.com and UniversalPictures.com in full. Guess they had backups, eh? Not that I want to antagonize or encourage them or anything, but I feel like Anonymous is losing its touch.

Probably not.

Anonymous may be good, but no single man could hack into Xbox Live.

It has the leading software developer behind it, I doubt that its possible.

It's always possible.

Losing it's touch? Uh no, they took down the sites and deleted CBS. That those sites had backups doesn't mean anonymous is losing anything.

Most major websites have backups.

This man could do it:

Still, they could have at least DDoS'd it a bit longer and kept whatever they had up there in its place longer. That was only this afternoon and they've already fully recovered. Hardly what I'd call impactful hacktivism.

Well, whatever but I was under the impression that anonymous just took sites down and then left them to fix it. I mean Sony took down PSN for all that time, not anonymous, they just gave Sony a reason to take PSN down.

Eh, that probably was the case come to think of it. Either way, I found it very underwhelming, and I'm sure CBS did as well. At least with the PSN they knocked them off their feet for a while, and got the "big" news outlet's attentions.

Also, side note; don't quadruple post. You can quote multiple people in the one post. Just press enter a few times in the comment box after clicking each quote button, and type in between [slashquote] and I know how to clip quote vortexes, and I usually do (see above). I just don't see it as totally imperative unless the quote is very long or it's more than five quotes deep.
