The only way Zynga will live through this is if their games remain relevant.
Obviously, Zynga needs to cut costs, so they need to lay off employees...
But, to attempt to kill a company because they laid off employees... Isn't that, oh, I dunno... Counter-productive?

Sure, It's Zynga, they have it coming, but this is a pretty obvious case of "No good guy." Though, this is synonymous with all "Anon attacks."

Or, it would be if their tools weren't restricted to an hour or so of DDOS.

"They" said they were going to do that did they?

Good for them. I'm still more worried about the Mayans hacking the world's calendars or whatever.

To properly attack Zynga, wouldn't they have to target all the app stores as well?

And judging from previous lack of success, I can't see ANY of them going down.

"Anonymous"' time is passed (I'm referring to the group of attackers who claim to be Anonymous, even though they misunderstand what Anonymous is), they can't stir up massive news stories anymore. Plus, they're taking the Fifth of November and using it to attack an ailing company on the verge of imploding? How very big of you guys.

Yeah, I'll have to see it before I believe it. Until then, they're just a bunch of attention whores in my book.

This is the fourth or fifth (sixth? Seventh?) time that they have threatened to take down a website/the internet, and they never carry through.

I'm pretty sure they claimed they were going to take down Facebook last year and it didn't happen then
Except that it did. If I recall correctly Facebook was down for a day or two last year.

Is it wrong for me to hope they actually succeed?

Not that they will, given how highly redundant Facebook likely is. Most that'll happen is some regional slowness.

And that's assuming this isn't just some skiddie talking out his ass.

No they won't.

You hear this shit all the time and it never bloody happens. Weren't people saying they were gonna take down the entire fucking internet at one point?
Exactly what I thought of. These guys almost never capitalize on their threats. They just sit around ruining all the cool parts of V for Vendetta.

Why can't they just light some fireworks and have fun like normal people?

Or, failing that, do something actually powerful and poignant. Playing knock-down-ginger on Facebook's door will just make some poor IT technician's day a little bit more taxing than normal.

Except that it didn't. Wider Anonymous actually denounced the proposal the day before it was planned and of course, nothing happened:

Except that it did, just not on Nov 5th. I know that is kinda irrelevant to the matter at hand, but still.

I'd really like to have a sit down with these people and ask them face to face what the fuck they're trying to accomplish.

Hell, take down every social networking thing; then you'd actually be doing the world some good. Taking Facebook down for thirty seconds and giving each other high-fives and fist bumps just continues to encourage people to roll their eyes and ignore you every time you threaten people with your teenaged e-terrorism.

In my mind I am picturing epic cyber space hacking battles between anonymous and Zuckerberg. Unfortunately for anonymous, if there's one thing that The Social Network taught us, it's that Zuckerberg has mad hacking skills.

I don't remember that and I couldn't find any information either via Google search or Wikipedia, sources please.

Personally, I wonder if Anonymous knows the ACTUAL meaning of the 5th of November.
Of course not. Those masks were dope in V for Vendetta, yo.
They have already made threats against Facebook in the past... multiple times, and they have yet to do anything. Anonymous as a group has gone down hill a lot as of late.

Also, they do know the meaning of the fifth of November. The idea is that they plan all major ops for that day... but just because one 'anonymous' member says that something is going to happen doesn't mean that it will. They're rarely tied to the main group.
