I've seen quite a few posts looking for music suggestions and input.
But they all ended up as some rock derivative. (aint nothin wrong with that ^^)
But hell, I'd like to see what kinda stuffs you guys can produce along the liiiines of:
'Breakcore'
... or so they've been catagorized.

yesterday i pretty much spent the day listening to 'Cookie Monsta' dubstep stuff.
So now as i venture off to my next lecture I eagerly await my next break with high hopes :p
no pressure ^.^
I'll see what else i can grab for this page as i go ;)

I really don't know what to classify Enter Shikari as...

Maybe you can tell me?
So far no lecturer >.> She may be out again xD

I'd call that Industrial... Much like static x or rammstein.
Mixing in techno with good rock has always done it for me ;D

Hmm... I may put in a few examles <.<

Ed Solo, quite reggae though, but good, he also does some Dubstep.
[hr]And from the same album but quite different. It's an awesome album

Rusko is all right dubstep, but you can't listen to Dubstep from Youtube, the bass usually sounds terrible.
Rusko/Caspa stuff is good as well, Caspa on his own is worth having a look at.
I'll put a few drum and bass things I like in here, see if anything tickles your fancy, could have been good to say what you like first.
Done my part, I can sit back and wait for other people to post, but I highly doubt anyone here will be into this to actually get a thread going.

Oh and aye you so CAN listen from youtube. Get yourself a sub-speaker or studio-headphones.
You can get some QUALITY sound from as lil as 20euro. or 15GBP if you keep eyes peeled.
I might just bump this thread in the early hours of the morning... See if Our friends from across the ocean have anything to give~

Just because you mentioned rock and I just found this weird group the other day and havn't linked it enough yet.

(wishful thinking on the solo I think though)

Anyone consider A Capella music techno? It's almost a vocal version of it.

The bass is ok on my system, most likely the best part of my computer, and Youtube is fine if that's all you're listening on.
I don't like mixing between Youtube and the stuff I have loaded on here, you really can tell the difference between 320kbs and whatever Youtube compresses to when they are played next to each other.

But now I've said something you won't have to double post to bump. :)

In my mind Pendulum are really the only TRUE D'n'B artists.
Sure there are some other great ones.. but pendulum has that special something.. every song is different and unique with a whole new beat to go crazy over.

I lost my live gig virginity with pendulum and don't regret it one bit.

I thought they were amazing live!
Maybe they have gotten better since you last saw them??

EDIT: Thank you, there old, but classic.

-snip-
Has quite a bit of a chiptune intro.
You might like this, it is calm and usually my hangover music.[hr]But even Chiptune can get "Nails on a black board"ish but it does it in a way that nerds like.

For a start, Pendulum is the friendly face of DnB, the one that all thie youngsters recognise because he went seriously mainstream. There is stuff out there many times better than Pendulum. Sure I can listen to Hold Your Colour, but as DnB goes, it's no classic.

Up to 1997, DnB was evolving from the Junglist era, and then fell into a pit until about 2001. But during that time, A classic album was released. Colours, by Adam F.

Wind up the subs to 11!

And some Goldie too. One of the tracks that changed things back in the 90's.

It's just my overwhelming experience of the 1997-2001 period. Lots of dross all very alike. And a lot of people started to screw around with basslines to the point that they just weren't very bassy, just an irritating noise.

It was in the early 2000's that I noticed an increase in the really aggressive /industrial DnB, and that's when I started listening again. In the interim, I went through a massive Pink Floyd phase!!

But Roni Size and Goldie were always around to keep me sane!
