I usually don't buy from Gamestop except when reserving games or I have a bunch of older games that I want to get rid of and won't get shit for on Ebay.
I have had Operation Flashpoint reserved there since June, and got it just about paid off using sold games. However, I had to go to school this morning and would not have gotten back until about 10:00 tonight, well after Gamestop closed. So my buddy (who got the game this morning from another store) picked me up from school and took me to Gamestop because he wants to play co-op with me and was willing to do me a favor.
We get to Gamestop and they say that corporate shorted them a copy...three people, including myself, had reserved the game, but corporate only sent them two, and the other two guys had already picked it up. The other Gamestop nearby was also out, as were the three others within a 20 mile radius.
Goddammnit.
The guy in Gamestop was pretty cool though, as he was calling everywhere for me. After nothing panned out, he had me write out a "customer issue" form and said that once he tracked down a copy or they got one in, he would call me and hold it for me. And give me 20% off.
So, sort of cool, but mostly goddamnit.
