Lots of Mario and Zelda titles is hardly a recent development in gaming.TypeSD said:Come on consoles, step it up. No more endless Mario/Zelda titles please Nintendo.
Eh, to be fair. I don't see much of that negativity in the gaming forum at least.Javarock said:I disagree, There wasn't american based hate.Mr. Omega said:Wow, raging PC Elitism, sequel-phobia, cries of "GIMMICK", pointless Nintendo hating and acting like an arrogant jackass.
Pretty much everything negative about the community on this site all summed up in one post.

Oh wait, it's on PC.

if you mean graphically, with hardware melting games like crysis (which was universally panned as poor gameplay in pretty makeup) then you're in gaming for the wrong reasons. while i enjoy the graphics of our current generation, they are in no way needed for a good game, or should be considered "innovation"
in fact, as much as i hate it, the 3D and motion sensing gaming is as close to innovation in todays game market as we are seeing. and these things are almost exclusively console features. what other examples do you have? the only real gaming innovation that still mostly belongs to the PC crowd is MMO gaming. and that's on the way to the console market too. and not ff11, but i mean things like Class4 (the persistant online world zombie game coming to xbox, and the follow up to the smaller Class3, which if you read up on, is AGAIN a console exclusive gameplay innovation.)
and how about the xbox indie games? while a lot of the time, these games are crap, just the fact that we've been given the tools to create actual games, and not just half life mods.
i, in no way hate pc gamers or pc gaming. but to say it's more innovative than console gaming is just blind, blatent elitism.
and at least my performance in online shooters on consoles isn't effected by how good my hardware is. with consoles we know that everyone is playing on the same piece of hardware, and therefor are judged purely by their skills. or their ability to crabwalk.
As am i (well except for Battlefield and MW3 but that's my taste and opinion). I just find it disturbing even if it's just the minority, that make unnecessary complaints on certain games. Some of them are even completely unrealistic or false. For what reasons, maybe it's a disdain towards some developers, or maybe it's just for the lulz/to just troll, but either way, I find it most of the time to be complete ignorance. Sure, sometimes there are certain game franchises or consoles that deserve some of the criticisms, but not to the point where those criticisms make it to the point where it makes that game/console/developer/franchise/cake/whatever look like it's complete trash which most of the time, is completely untrue.MiracleOfSound said:Only by an obnoxiously vocal minority.JNA17 said:Am i a bad person if I want to get Halo 4? Many of us are psyched up for Halo, Battlefield, MW3, ME3, Skyrim... no matter what platform we're going to play them on.

In a word, Minecraft.
In some more words, the original Portal.
okay, so minecraft is a good call, but it should be pointed out that the fact that it's coming to console makes it entirely possible that the game couldve been made on a console, the fact that it's pc is incidental.TypeSD said:martyrdrebel27 said:i'd like to know what PC gaming is innovating that consoles aren't. seriously, make me a list.TypeSD said:Seriously, what's happened to innovation in the gaming market?

I can't wait for the new instalment, if people don;t like them they should just ignore it.

oh yeah, i'll never argue that. i enjoy halo wars, but the controls for RTS just aren't made for consoles. halo wars needs a shift+1, shift+2, (EDIT: or is it ctrl+1, ctrl+2, etc? been awhile since i played warcraft, i forget...) etc squad creation and selection option. it makes for much more strategic armies. RTS belongs to the pc world. and turn based i'd venture to say. i love heroes of might and magic.Tim_Buoy said:i mostly agree with you but you also for get that the pc still dominates the RTS genremartyrdrebel27 said:i'd like to know what PC gaming is innovating that consoles aren't. seriously, make me a list.TypeSD said:Seriously, what's happened to innovation in the gaming market?
