The site has a rather obnoxious layout, so to spare the inconvenience of venturing therein, here’s the highlights-

-The leak claims a new collection will be released for both PlayStation 5 and PC, and it will be called Uncharted: Chronicle Edition.

-It is claimed that Uncharted: Chronicle Edition will include all the usual upgraded bells and whistles, such as improved resolution, textures, framerate and more. It will apparently release sometime this year.

-(About TLoU2 expansion) Well, the same source claims that the expansion, entitled Dark Sides, will be a standalone expansion, much like the amazing Left Behind for the original The Last of Us.

The Last of Us Part 2: Dark Sides will apparently release for both PS4 and PS5 (which might indicate that a new-gen upgrade of The Last of Us Part 2 is on the way).

-As already mentioned, the story of Dark Sides will focus on Abby, and she’ll discover the truth behind her hidden memories of the past which “will spur her toward her new future goal.”

-It doesn’t end there though. The highly anticipated multiplayer mode is said to arrive alongside the rumoured expansion.

-...it will apparently feature a battle royale mode, and is chronologically set before the final chapter of The Last of Us Part 2.

-The Last of Us Part 2: Dark Sides and the multiplayer mode are rumoured to arrive sometime during early 2022. With this particular rumour, it’s important to note that Naughty Dog has previously stated that DLC isn’t in the works for TLOU2, so take that as you will.

-There’s even more to the leaks though, as the source also claims that Naughty Dog has a new IP in development called Stray’s Cross. Rumours of Stray’s Cross first popped up in 2019, perhaps suggesting there’s some truth to this one.

-Apparently, Stray’s Cross will be a new sci-fi AAA title from the acclaimed studio and will release for PlayStation 5. It will reportedly be compatible with the upcoming PSVR2, which is expected to release in 2022.

-Allegedly, a short clip was shown featuring the protagonist of Stray’s Cross “with a first-person view, during a shooting as he crosses portals that lead to different eras, from modern to Egyptian, from futuristic to prehistoric.”

-Again, we have no clue as to how legitimate this supposed leak it, so pinches of salt all around.

Well, it sounds like they might at least be turning a leaf to a more light hearted, adventurous new IP if any of this has weight to it.

That Last of Us expansion sounds totally pointless. How could they further explore Abby's reasons to kill Joel, they pretty much spelled that shit out during the core game. And i dont want to play anymore of her because she sucks.

I dont know why they need another uncharted collection either. Every uncharted game is already on ps4 and by token also ps5, so some unnecessary second revamp seems like ugly milking of the series.

That ship has sailed, come back, been scrapped, and the materials used to build a train that has left the station.
I feel that describes Last of Us in general. A third person cover shooting zombie game? How original! Which in a way makes their achievements kind of impressive.

That said, Jesus Christ the world most definitely does not need another battle royale and having a DLC about Abby seems... brave.

OT: I don't know about this new IP. I just want a good third person shooter, one not bogged down by walking and climbing sections or zombies and unbearable despair. Naughty Dog doing sci-fi sounds cool, but these days a sci-fi FPS game seems kinda generic.

No this time she's going to find out Ellie killed her mother and go on a revenge fuelled quest to kill Ellie and you then have to play as Dina and take revenge back then Lev and take revenge on Dina.

Will this truth cause Abby to go 'grrr, I'm mad now and need to kill a whole bunch of people in third-person stealth action'? You know, the way Naughty Dog now seems to contextualize their gameplay and grounded storytelling. Who knows, maybe they'll be able to give Abby some engaging characteristics this time, beyond telling off Owen for being a needy puppy.

Also, 'hidden memories'? The hell does that mean? Amnesia? God, I'd actually be interested to see Naught Dog trainwreck the shit out of that.

I also want Insomniac to N-Sane Trilogy the PS2 era Ratchet Games and I mean preserve the story and tone of the original games. Not that fucking Reboot to tie into that shit movie.

Same for the Jak games too.

The current tone of the Ratchet and Clank series does not have that satirical and dry edge it used to I am happy Insomniac still is keeping it going while Jak and Dakter just rots in a corner with barely a mention.

Not really. Relying on Abby again we'll just be playing it safe. Playing as Juli Kidman is more brave by comparison. If Evil within 3 ever decides to happen.

The first game's multiplayer mode was pretty good I thought. If they keep with the stealth team focus, I would be interested in the first hour until the post-level 100 assholes ruin my super casual lucky streak. A 60fps mode is what am really hoping for tho. Free these furry eyeballs from their low refresh-rate prison please deviant canine?

Uncharted on PC sounds great!

I've always heard TLoU's multiplayer mode was really fun, so its nice for it to return... but I don't have PS+ (nor do I intend to), so I don't really care. A BR mode makes thematical sense, too - but I can't really stand BR games, so whatever.

A DLC focusing on Abby seems brave, but also props to Naughty Dog for doubling down on her. I actually quite liked Abby - even if I found her adventures in TLoU2 to be utterly pointless, in the grand scheme of things.

For the new game... I've liked ND games in the past, so I will probably like this one. Being VR compatible does interest me, but I have no plans on getting a PSVR, so hopefully the game is perfectly fine without it. Strange concept, though.

Why wouldnt you get ps+? The free games every month are worth the price alone. They gave away FF7REMAKE this month and thats 40-60 bucks still depending on random sales.

Pretty much.

Starting with Tools of Destruction the series went for this cringey, child friendly humor, and other than maybe A Crack in Time they've all suffered from this as a result. All the bullshit lore nonsense with Ratchet being the last of the lombaxes and Clank being The Chosen One really didn't help either.

Well, considering Abby has about as much goodwill in the gaming community as an ear-burrowing tick, I wouldn't exactly call it playing it safe.

They are playing it safe. They're trying to please the professional critics and and those that already love Abby to begin with.

A couple of reasons.

For one, I don't really play on my PS4. Mostly because I prefer my PC, but also because my girlfriend is usually using our TV.

Secondly, im one of those "its not 'free' if im paying for it" people - AFAIK, as soon as you stop paying for PS+, they disappear until you sub again, and I really don't want to get locked into another subscription.

Lastly, I don't really care for the games. Pretty much every PS4 game that I want to play, I already own outright. Everything else, I either don't care for, or I own elsewhere.

I suppose whilst we are on the topic of FF7... I cannot stand JRPGs, or a lot of non-Nintendo Japanese games. I find the way they control is indescribably weird, and I also find a lot of the plotlines to be really convoluted gibberish. The HUDs and UIs also tend to be really strangely laid out, and hard to navigate. They just don't mesh well with my dumb-dumb English brain.

Critical reception doesn't really indicate good sales which Naughty Dogs likely knows. Wasn't some research done ages ago about how review scores were only barely a factor in why people bought games?

I was not referring to the sales. I referring to the circle jerk that happens within the spheres of AAA gaming. It feeds in to itself. Remember all of those "awards" TLOUS II kept winning. It was nothing more than the industry giving itself a fellatio and acting as if the game was "brave", "breaking new boundaries", and "moving the medium forward"! When in reality, the game was just another edgy, try-hard (and it was not even trying that hard), "revenge is bad" game with terrible people doing terrible things to other terrible people. While still expecting us to feel sorry or some type of sympathy for these characters. I felt nothing but hate, disdain, and most importantly, boredom. The worse kind of BAD. Boring. Annoying. Dumb.

In a world such as this, you might as well throw people like Joker, Junko Enoshima, or Johan Libert in there. Hell, Raoh The Conquer, would fit better and actual take better steps to make sure world of TLOUS II would be a better place for people.
