I was not referring to the sales. I referring to the circle jerk that happens within the spheres of AAA gaming. It feeds in to itself. Remember all of those "awards" TLOUS II kept winning.
Oh I remember TLOU2 getting things like best game direction despite involving a ton of crunch or best narrative despite being a standard ''revenge is bad m'kay'' story''. But I don't think those prizes are very high on the priority list. Maybe on the list of individual developers but they aren't calling the shots. The game industry is very money driven and cut throat with even the most acclaimed series ruthlessly getting cancelled the moment they stop bringing in the money.

Hence why Naughty Dog still gets to stick around, but Sony gave JAPAN Studio the axe.

They are playing it safe. They're trying to please the professional critics and and those that already love Abby to begin with.
Yeah, but I still wouldn't call that playing it safe. Playing it safe would've been if they made a Joel DLC. This is more digging their heels in, which I would say is the opposite of playing it safe. I mean sure, critics and people who love Abby to begin with, but I don't think you can say they're the ones that have steered the general image of the game. And that general image being one of high controversy, mainly because of Abby, because people fucking hate her with a passion.
I was not referring to the sales. I referring to the circle jerk that happens within the spheres of AAA gaming. It feeds in to itself. Remember all of those "awards" TLOUS II kept winning. It was nothing more than the industry giving itself a fellatio and acting as if the game was "brave", "breaking new boundaries", and "moving the medium forward"! When in reality, the game was just another edgy, try-hard (and it was not even trying that hard), "revenge is bad" game with terrible people doing terrible things to other terrible people. While still expecting us to feel sorry or some type of sympathy for these characters. I felt nothing but hate, disdain, and most importantly, boredom. The worse kind of BAD. Boring. Annoying. Dumb.
It would've been a circle jerk regardless of TLoU2 winning though. People were just extra pissed off about it being a circle jerk due to TLoU2 winning. Had FF7R won it would've still been a circle jerk, but a lot of people would've probably been okay with it then.

Pretty much.

Starting with Tools of Destruction the series went for this cringey, child friendly humor, and other than maybe A Crack in Time they've all suffered from this as a result. All the bullshit lore nonsense with Ratchet being the last of the lombaxes and Clank being The Chosen One really didn't help either.
Well, considering Abby has about as much goodwill in the gaming community as an ear-burrowing tick, I wouldn't exactly call it playing it safe.
I was replaying and Deadlocked and those lines still had me laughing and towards the end where Dallas is having a breakdown was classic. And as far as I am concerned Captain Qwerk shagged a monkey and that will never not be canon.

To add I want a full on just Abby game because it was a cold winter and need more heat to sustain myself and fires of the internet will keep me warm.

That and lombax Bill Clinton, how a hill billy saw Quark holding his dick, and aliens talking about naughty college co-eds. This is also why Ratchet and Clank 3 is the best one.

Yeah, but that's like that icky, hot, fart-in-your-face type heat though.

Ratchet and Clank 3 is the apex of the series and I am excited for the new one I need to steel my expectations cause that humor will not be returning but I know the gameplay will be a chefs kiss.

I thought something was wrong the tone Tools of Destruction was going for when I saw the Villain, and those pirate robot characters.

And yet Naughty Dog probably consider it a safe bet in their view.

Exactly! (Raiden Chirs Lambert voice). Hence why the VGA are such bullshit and not worth much of anything.

While I enjoy the gameplay of most R&C games, by this point it just feels like it's going through the motions though. It's like the Dynasty Warriors franchise in that sense. Seems Ratchet and Clank is primarily used to show off the new hardware and little else. I remember after having played the 2016 game I was clamoring for a gameplay revamp.

But they suckered people into playing as her in TLoU2. How many would've actually played the game, if they knew about the twist? And how many will buy the expansion knowing it means playing as her again? I know I won't.

Who knows? Does not matter now; they got peoples money. Though the game bombed horribly in Japan, which is sad, as the Japanese really loved the first game.

The ones that honestly like Part II and love Abby. Plus, Druckman is an egotistical douche, other disgruntled fans or haters probably don't matter much to him anymore.

I know I won't.
Excellent! Neither will I. I did buy either games anyway. Though I found out my older brother bough the first game on a PSN sale earlier this month. He's liking it so far, but I have not asked him enough about why he's liking it.

Pass for me, LOU2 was the longest 35 hours of my existence I'll never get back. Honestly one thing that would have fixed most of the games problems for me would have been to interweave the narratives instead of making me switch characters 20 hours or whatever in and hoping Stockholm syndrome will set. It did, I plowed through it(with a lot of alcohol), but man I never wanna do anything like that ever again. Abbys story is done, let it go.

Like the author of Shaman King, the creator/director is having too much sucking their creations gentitals and want everyone to do the same. Your best bet is to ignore them and focus on the games you enjoy.

That Last of Us expansion sounds totally pointless. How could they further explore Abby's reasons to kill Joel, they pretty much spelled that shit out during the core game. And i dont want to play anymore of her because she sucks.
Oh, it'll add another 3 hours of making for you feel bad for killing dudes. This time you'll have to hang out with all of the Seraphites you had to murder so you can feel bad about killing them as well.

"I work at a puppy rescue center on my time off. Also my 3 year old waiting for me to get home for her brithday. I hope nobody sneaks up on me and kills me today"
