I use AVG, but I've heard good things about Avast as well.

I use Avira, but it seems Avast is fine too. Just don't buy one, they tend to not be a bit better than the free ones...

Avast is really nice, especially when coupled with Spybot-Search and Destroy.

Provided you don't do anything completely stupid, AVG is more that good enough, and is mostly hassle-free.

I use Malwarebytes, Spybot followed by CCleaner.

These 3 will pretty much solve all your issue. Also, naturally, Google to usually visit sites, since it tends to block the more 'dangerous' ones...apart from the certains day when it flags every-site as malware.

I use avast, Works great, Although if you ever get a virus it gives you a heart attack.

Avast shouts: A VIRUS HAS BEEN DECTED

Avast pops up with flashy spiny crap saying A VIRUS HAS BEEN DECTED... And in really small text says; But theres no reason to panic..

I approve of Avast!, Spybot Search & Destroy and CCleaner. Also might be wise to track down a firewall, I use ZoneAlarm, which does the job.

I use a combination of AVG and ZoneAlarm. They work together nicely. I approve of Avast, though.

I like VIPRE by Sunbelt, low system overhead and good protection. It is usually an enterprise solution, however I am almost certain that they have individual machine licensing as well.

Best free antivirus? Microsoft Security Essentials.

No, really.

Being a linux user mainly I don't have to worry about virus and that as long as i'm not completely stupid. I run kaspersky on my windows install and can't complain. You can't really go wrong with any of the main antivirus softwares as long as your sensible and don't think like some less tech literate people that antivirus software is some magic spray that repels all viruses no matter what you do

Just because nobody makes viruses for linux. Although I admit it is MUCH more secure than windows, and infinitely more so than Mac.

I use Avast, C Cleaner, with Malwarebytes, and Spy Bot Search and Destroy. After I switched from AVG my laptop has run SO much better. If one misses something the others catch it.
