OK so we have had more than our fair share of zombies and vampires. So I would like some undead alternatives to be the new vogue undead creature. D&D undead rules btw so shadows still count as undead etc. Be as obscure as you like. (first one to think they are funny and say ghouls gets a visit from Joe Pesci and a baseball bat) Scan those Monster Manuals if you must. Lets start a movement to swap out the vanilla undead we use now.

Also if mods think this belongs in off-topic feel free to move it at any point.

Will I suffer Pesci retribution if I forward Ghasts as a possible substitute? Very well, I'll play it safe and go with Mohrgs then.

I've never quite gotten the whole Zombie thing, I don't know why. But seeing something other than Zombies or Vampires would be nice, even if only for a little while.

Deathknights from Dragonlance (Krynn)

or Revenants http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revenant_(fiction)

Back before you could play one as a character race.

anything from S.T.A.L.K.E.R (..except for the zombies)

The game has giant mutants who can use stealth, sneak up behind you and pop a head off. Chimeras are these beastly looking human dog-things with huge arms, those fat little Jabba The Hut looking guys with Psyi powers... and hell, even the zombies use guns (kind of)

Dude, I wipe those things out with my Turn Undead ability in DDO. Care to go up against a lvl 12 Paladin?

OT: I'd say shades, but those bastards are annoying as hell.

Chimera, as in the FMA kind. I thought the dog ones were freaky as hell, and the human ones were really strong and had awesome abilities. I think this could make an impressive game

Skeletons. In particular, the boneyard, of Libris Mortis (DnD 3.5)

Nothing says "I love you" like ripping a person's skeletal system from their still living body.

A game simliar to The Witcher but they need some top studios to make one wherein you are a supernatural huter but with no powers woudld be sick.

How about a game where you play as a chupacabra? Run around, terrorize Mexico and suck the blood out of tons of goats!

I'd also like to add to this thread by saying that if another zombie-shooter is really necessary, that they can go ahead and just use juggalos instead of zombies due to their similar characteristics. The game starts as many shooters do, with a heavily armed, gritty (and obviously "mature) character standing around a trailer park for no obvious reason. He then proceeds to ask someone why the Psychopathic Records logo is called the "hatchet man" when it's obviously carrying a meat cleaver. The juggalos, being in their natural habitat, then get stirred into a frenzy...

It's just an idea to mull over.
