I'm wanting to make some cool little gadget. So I'm making a thread so we can discuss any cool Do-It-Yourself projects that you have heard of or accomplished. Right now I'm wanting to make a little wrist-mounted thing, either an airsoft gun or grappling hook. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas?

well.. first off you'd have to deal with how are you gonna hold/feed the ammo into your arm-airsoft gun. You'd have to have the motor assembly, gears, and barrel at a minimum, plus the wiring to a battery; that alone would, I imagine, require some physics to figure out what kind of resistors or whatever you need to make it compatible with a more portable battery. I'd say stick to electric gearboxes for now, since implementing gas blowback system would be kinda hard. for an ammo holder, you could have one of those straight bb-speed loaders (the cheap ones that hold about 30 or 50 and come with the airsoft rifles) click into place in your wrist-mounted apparatus.

as for actual details, i'm sorry but i wouldn't know, but you could probably start with an electric pistol motor (say a Tokyo Marui pistol), and maybe saw off (and subsequently polish) the barrel if it's too long.

MAME [http://au.retro.ign.com/articles/867/867066p1.html?RSSwhen2008-04-16_135600&RSSid=867066] cabinet.

I want a table-top MAME cabinet, but sadly I have neither the space, nor the will to make one.

I was thinking of using a cheap little spring pistol, that would be much more simple and not a waste of money if I screw it up, but that seems like a good outline of a plan. Welcome to the Escapist.

Build yourself a hydrogen fuel cell, it's not that hard the instructions are all over the internet.
Doing that

Also I'm totally redecorating my room, new floor, wall paper, plug sockets, light, bling, bed, bedding.

After all this I plan to make a gun blade.

@ ShotgunShaman - Thanks, i've been here for a while watching zero punctuation, but haven't really been on the forums.

OT: a nice springer where you just pop one in every time manually would be a lot faster and cheaper, yeah. haha. all you'd need to worry about is the spring mechanism then!

Nuclear fusion. That's always a good one to try out. I'm sure there's something on the internet about it.
he might have some trouble getting hold of the plutonium
Why would he need plutonium for a fusion device? (except possibly if he'd build a fission plant first to use as a kind of starter engine)
