Alrighty guys, video games have been getting a bit boring for me lately, and I have zero money so I can't go out and buy any new ones yet, so I am turning to television to get my giggles. Preferably something sci-fi/anime. The shows I watch on a regular basis are basically Fringe and Naruto, respectively covering my two favorite genres. Last night I was going through my sister's netflix instant queue on my PS3 and I noticed an anime called Claymore which I had never heard of and the premise seemed entertaining. I turned it on and I am already up to episode 10 of it. This is a problem however, because it appears to be an 26 episode long series for whatever reason so this will not keep me entertained most likely past today. So I ask you escapist, what shows do you recommend. Not limited to sci-fi and anime, but these are my favorite genres.
Thanks in advance!

Cowboy Bebop, Tengen Toppa Gurren Laggan. Those two are sci-fi animes, however they're both only 26 episodes or something each. I've just started watching Gin Tama, which is kinda sci-fi, but it's a comedy anime. It's pretty fucking funny though, so I'd recommend that, it has like 200 episodes. Akira is an awesome anime film too if you haven't seen it already.

Watch Gurren Lagaan, but make sure to turn off your logic box. The awesomeness of Kamina is not constrained by logic.

And if you like that, search up Megas XLR, because... it's Megas.

Doctor Who (Scifi)
Torchwood (Scifi)
Top Gear (The British one)
Mythbusters (The only American show on the list)

Yeah, nearly anything from the BBC.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex is the best sci-fi anime I have ever seen, so you may want to give that a try.

Dennou Coil is a lot softer (the characters are all kids, it's very upbeat), but there's some really clever writing and some great twists in there. Worth a shot.

Also, Community. Not sci-fi or anime, but it's very funny.

As has been mentioned: Cowboy Bebop, Tengen toppa Gurren Lagann and Top gear.

And here are the series you should watch even though they might not fit your preferences: Clannad (and after story), Welcome to the NHK, FLCL, Elfen Lied, Panty and stocking with garterbelt and Seitokai yakuindomo

Blackadder.

Sort of alternate history where a family of assholish characters all played by Rowan Atkinson impose themselves on famous historical settings.

I used to watch that when I was younger. I enjoyed it but it couldn't keep my attention for very long for some reason. It's the same now at this age because I have tried to go back to it a few times.
