Hey Escapists!

I just recieved my Saitek x52 today, broke out Descent Freespace 2, and had a grand old time realizing that it wouldn't recognize my throttle control. Sadface. I still played it though, 'cause I freakin' love that game!

Anyways, since I don't want to feel like I wasted $80 on a flight stick I won't get the full potential out of, anyone have some suggestions for flight or space sims? Preferably involving combat of some sort.

I've tried the Polynomial, but at best I can eek 3FPS out of the thing, so I went ahead and uninstalled that one.

For reference, this be my laptops specs: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220744&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-Froogle-_-Notebooks-_-ASUS-_-34220744

(other than a copy of the afformentioned game that mysteriously showed up in my game collection)

Hehe, it's a great one. Anyone up for a game of space chicken?

The "X" games are all very complex and expansive (single player) space-flight RPGs if you're into that sort of thing, which I'm sadly not.

I heard Allegiance (an online space sim combined with RTS) is really good but my PC could not handle it (cause it sucks) so you might want to give it a try after all it's free!
Although now that I think about it I don't know if it has Flight stick support, but as I said it's free also even for my crappy computer it was a very fast download so it should not take much of you're time to find out, also the gameplay videos reminded me of Freespace so it might be right up you're alley.

Allegiance is so hard its unreal the learning curve is so steep, also as soon as you play online you will get raped by the 17 or so super-nerds who still play it.
