[sub]This is probably fairly niché but hey, let's be alternative by being mainstream on an alternative site[/sub]
For those who don't know Hollywood Undead songs normally have pseudo-rap lyrics and a chorus that is a catchy upbeat hook.

With a new album soon out and a new lead vocalist I thought it the ideal time for a thread, I ask that before you hate you listen to a few songs as their style varies between most of their tracks. They have pre-released 3 tracks off their new album so far and I have to say I think their style has definitely changed. It's become far more pop/rock than rap/rock and they now sound sort of Nu-Metal'y to me now; it's definitely party music. What I want to know is:
Do you like Hollywood undead?
What do you think of their new singer?
How about their newest songs?

I couldn't tell the difference between their old vocals and their new ones, I like the new genre direction but then I'm a bit of a diehard HU fan so...

EDIT-To those wondering if Hollywood Undead are ironic/parody/spoiled rich kids http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.274523-Any-Hollywood-Undead-fans-out-there#10624556

EDIT 2- So the Album is out now has anyone bought it? Thoughts on it?

I'm gonna take a guess and say the reaction on here will be less than positive.

I do like them however. At least, the one song that actually got any exposure over here "Undead". It immediately went on my upbeat driving songs list and is a great song to play loud when you're just cruising the streets, especially at night.

As for the songs you've listed, I like the newer sound better so I may actually look up a few more of their songs.

I like Hollywood Undead quite a lot. I like to assume that some of their raps are kind of parodying most rap music. But overall I prefer their more meaningful songs.

I am one. Although I wasn't too pleased with them when they decided to say bye-bye to Deuce, other than that I think their new stuffs quite good :)

Yeah but you have to remember, it is a cover of a Led Zeppelin song; it's hard to match the oldies.

It is mostly parody, check their lyrics about the hate they get:
HU lyrics about the hate they get said:
You're temptin` me to run my mouth and call you out on this *****
How ignorant you gotta be to believe any of this?

The three newer tracks you poster aren't too bad but they're nothing special. I absolutely loved 'Young' when I first heard it but all their more autotuned and hip hop-esque tracks are just plain awful. I'm not sure if they're meant to be ironic or not but, either way, they just seem like spoiled little rich kids whining about things they probably can't relate to at all

Yeah I was thinking that. I get pissed off when people compare Hollywood Undead with Brokencyde, they are fucking terrible!! Hollywood Undead aren't.

It's mostly parody/irony and occasionally shock humour (see: "Dead in Ditches" track) as you can see from the song Undead's verse material:

What you can't see the sarcasm in the verses I spit?
What you think I just got lucky and didn't work for this shit?
I've been working at this ever since I was a kid
I've played a million empty shows for only family and friends,
What kind of person would dis a band that deserves to get big?
I'd hate to be that person when my verse comes out their kids lips
That shits as worse as it gets, this verse is over, I quit

Not a Hollywood Undead fan, but I did see them at an outdoor festival in a crowd of about 13,000 people.

While I wouldn't buy their CD, I wouldn't mind seeing them live again. They've got great energy and put on a great live show that's really tailor-made for large crowds.

Nope. I remember when they blew up on youtube about 5 or 6 years ago. For the longest time, I thought it was a parody; a joke of some sort. Then I heard about a record deal. I was fucking shocked.

To this day, I still can't help but think that everything they do is some sort of parody.

Wow. Surprised there hasn't been any serious hate yet. Last time I saw someone mention HU on here, the hate train was there in moments. o_o

Some of their songs are good, but some I just can't get into.

Surprised me too, I think the hate train was away making pranks and trolling (the thread was posted on april first). Restarting this thread could be a bit risky.

[sub]sorry for the late quote by the way, my laptop broke and I forgot about the thread till I saw the album was out now.[/sub]
