Any one else secretly wishes the world actually does end in december?

I wouldn't want it to actually happen but I can understand the appeal of being able to be one of the people who experienced it happening. I don't believe 2012 is truly happening though so I'm taking the whole thing with a lot of cynicism. If it happens we'll likely all be killed so it won't concern us. If it doesn't happen, we'll all be alive and it won't concern us. It's perhaps a lazy way to look at it, but I see no real cause for alarm.

Nope.

I'm already warming up my `I told you so` speech for my mother, who is inclined to believe any kind of bull.

I dont get the fuss about `TEH END OF THE WORLD!`, I mean, we're all gonna die. So what if it happens at the same time as everyone else.
Under the normal circumstances of death, very likely your family and friends and certainly the human race will continue living on after you. With "the end of the world!", everything you know and love would be gone forever, all of the human race's progress wiped away in one fell swoop. Yes, the "end of the world" idea itself is bullshit but what isn't to get about the fuss?

I kind of hope it ends before December, that way I won't have to put up with all this talk of the apocalypse...

You know, I have a theory that the world might end in December, simply because enough people believe it will. ("The world's going to end anyway, why don't we launch all our nuclear weapons? Have a bit of fun first.")

Now while a societal collapse would let me become some sort of cool post-apocalyptic samurai, roaming the roads of a fallen land, bringing peace to places in turmoil and learning the way of the blade, that would probably be uncomfortable.

So, no thanks, I think I'm fine.

No, but I do indeed share the same morbid curiosity as you do.

However, I don't think that justifies billions of (i'll assume) innocent lives being eliminated. And other animals that have no morality and I suppose are inherently innocent, too.

Not saying it'd be any of our fault it happened, but I wouldn't wish for it to happen.

You gotta die in an "underground" fashion anyway- Dying in the apocalypse is too mainstream, man.

Nope.

Honestly, I'm kinda tired of this end of the world crap. It's sad that so many people look forward to dying or even bother worrying about this thing in general. Sure, no more having to deal with life's issues and knowing you're not dying alone sounds dandy, but it's pretty pitiful. If you want to die, kill yourself. If you don't want to die alone, go on a murderous rampage. If you don't want to die alone, but don't want to actually do anything? Give up on it and go back to your pathetic existence. Seems to be working for me just fine.

Even if the world does begin to end, what are people gonna do? Congratulate you for being right? Hell no! They're just gonna start freaking out and wish you were wrong. And if you are wrong, people will just look at you, point, and laugh all day. Because you were honestly stupid enough to believe in this crap, especially if you actually acted on it in some way.

OP, this isn't really directed at you, I just wanted an excuse to get this out of my system.

Yes, but I make no secret of it. I want the world to end in december 2012 (or sooner, if possible), but then I work retail.

Nope, I'm not suicidal, nor do I hate my fellow man to such an extent that I wish for the entire world to be destroyed.

The world as a whole I'd love to see collapse. But without it, I don't have all the little things in life. So my vote is no.

"I want the human race to be annihilated, but that's not why I want the world to end"

Excuse me while I don't believe you.

Anyways, no. I watch too much Discovery Channel to want the world to end!

How fucked up do you have to be to seriously wish for the death of 7 billion people?

To answer your question: fuck no and I find the question itself a bit offensive.
