righty so lately iv been getting bored of alot of my games and been in the mood for something differant i mostly tend to stick to FPS's and WRPG's, i have been looking forward to Final Fantasy XIII for ages and i have been really enjoying playing it so far iv always loved Final Fantasy and some other JRPG's that i played and i have been struck by the question..."why have i not played much JRPG's even though i enjoy them?"

So now i am going through a JRPG phase and i want to play lots of them, i already got a couple of suggestions off my mate which was MagnaCarta 2 and Tales of Vesperia...or something like that, which both look awesome so im going to check them out but he can't think of anymore of the top of his head, so does anyone have any good JRPG games they could recommend for me to try out? any suggestions would be much appreciated thanks :)

If what you like JRPGs for is the turn based gameplay, then I would recommend Sonny and Sonny 2 by Armor Games. Its all done in flash, and they have got to be some of my favourite games to date.

Tales of Vesperia is a great choice I wish I had bought it instead of renting. If you have a gamecube or wii I would also recommend Tales of Symphonia it is probably my favorite jrpg of all time.

Tales of Symphonia [/thread]
Or Final Fantasy IX or Final Fantasy Tactics or Dragon Quest VIII.

My favourite JRPG of all time is Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.

Go play it, if you have a gamecube or Wii. You need to.
I have played Paper Mario it was only for a bit at a friends house though, might get it off him and play it more if he still has it.

The only one Ive really played is Final Fantasy 7, which was good so you should give that a go if you get the chance.

I have FF: XIII sitting here at my desk... can't wait to go home and play.

Anyway I recommend Demon's Souls even tho it's not in any way a standard JRPG. It's a very difficult real time action RPG.

On NGC I would highly recommend Skies of Arcadia: Legends - the graphics are terrible but it's an extremely fun game with both the normal group combat, but also SHIP BATTLES!!! That's right, you get to fly a ship around and engage in ship to ship combat, and you can upgrade the ship with cannons and stuff eventually you get a super awesome battleship and can outfit your base with new shops and the like.

Any of the Mario and Luigi games are good. Final Fantasy, of course, is great (especially VI, VII, and X). Chrono Trigger is a classic. I've heard a lot about a little-known SNES game called Terranigma, which I plan on playing soon. Legend of Dragoon is good as well (good luck finding the PS1 disc, though).

Also, The World Ends with You, on the DS. Absolute must-play. Amazing game.

The Suikoden series is gold. Five is my favorite, but I've heard arguments in favor of all of them except possibly 4.

NIS has a load of brilliant games (mostly PS2), but most of them are SRPG's (Disgaea series, La Pucelle: Tactics, Phantom Brave, etc).
