Any terraria players?

Hey, last time I played this I got everything there was to get (bar the items I didn't want) and now there is a whole heap of extra goodies to get my grubby little mits on!

The problem is where do I start? I have the sunfury and skeletron is deadsies, so do I need to mine something new or smash something like 5 shadow orbs or kill the wall of flesh (which I would have to look up how to summon) or what?

For discussions sake, how have you found the new end game stuff to this lil gem? Some of it sounds pretty awesome!

I made a large world first then a small world, I (correctly) figured that small worlds would not only be smaller width but also depth wise, so mining obsidian and hell stone was quicker.

Then with the ores on my person, I would change to the large world. I think it's about time to make my main world have access to hell as well though, so I am on my way ....

And yes, as TheKasp pointed out, Voodoo Dolls are dropped by Voodoo Demons in hell.

The easiest way to deal with lava is to flush some water into your hellevator, so when you hit lava it makes an obsidian tunnel through it. Just don't go overboard with how much water you displace... I managed to crash the game on a Large world by displacing too much water

Oh, and before you actually fight the thing, make a long, perfectly flat platform in hell(I mean really long - at least half a thousand blocks), it'll really help.

And yes, as TheKasp pointed out, Voodoo Dolls are dropped by Voodoo Demons in hell.

Well that went badly! I did like 500 damage, ran out of "run way" and just failed really badly haha

The first boss fight I have ever failed, damn and blast!

I'm guessing you've died, what, 10, maybe 20 times, a few of them by accident? Well, get ready to die that many times per hour.

One little tip:

Waterwalking potions. It's like magic!

Nah, it's still pretty easy to get stuck on a cliff, might as well go with Gravitation Potions.

Well, this can be actually "countered" by jumping. In my first kill I had the problem that the platform I build just for the sake of having it there was not long enough and I had too much work looking after the lava. With Waterwalking Lava is just no issue if you have a certain level of dodgeability (well, since I can't tell what the average level is I say certain. If it is a problem go for Gravity [this is now adressed to the OP]).

Well, obviously simply running won't work, but if you suddenly run into a obsidian building that goes all the way from the "floor" to the "roof", you're pretty much dead.

Ok, this was one problem I took care of before my first kill. Had to mine down 5 buildings like that.

Yeah, so a bit of preparation is still needed. I'd still prefer a platform, but I'm pretty OCD about fighting bosses on arenas. Plus, you can't deny that it's even easier to kill the WoF when all you have to do is run, not even jump.

Twice, then I went to bed 'cos I felt my sleepyness was effecting me. I was using the space gun with that armor that makes it free to shoot.

I only got it down to half health before the ability to spam drink health potions killed me.

This time I will use the phoenix blaster with meteor shot.

Thanks for the help guys. I decided to use a long bridge, it could do with being a little lower but I can always just about shoot the mouth or the eye.

Dig. dig all day, and dig all night. get the materials to craft better gear and dig some more, once you've got yourself a nice respectable little pile of materials and gear go check out the wiki and find your next step, there's some reeeeeally good Terraria Wikis, they'll give ya further instructions...

I think it was like when I finished getting the "normal armor", I got full and was like "now what? I know there are other stuff to be had but how do I get to it?".

Till the eye magically spawned one night and I wailed on it ...

Fair warning, beating the wall of flesh turns on hard mode, and hard mode is actually hard. Meteor armor and the space gun will not cut it. unless your into masochism or really good, get yourself some molten gear, nights edge and the phoenix blaster first. Oh and expect your world (Including your base) to basically be over run by corruption and hallow unless you spend a LOT of time prepping it.

Tbh if it wasn't for the gear, hard mode really wouldn't be worth it.

I stopped playing when I got the Excalibur. I can effectively rape the Destroyer, though the twins and Skeletron Prime can effectively rape me.

It's actually way easier to use the Minishark on him. You just need a bit more ammo. And while it has the tentacles in front of it, it helps to slash them all away with Night's Edge.

K, once you have Necro/molten armour and a minishark, head down to hell, find a Voodoo demon, kill it, grab the doll, create a bridge across alot of the lava in hell so you have something to run across, throw the doll into the lava and fight the wall. (Alternative: Grab a gravitation potion) Just make sure you got a good amount of hp potions (Not the lesser ones)

Once thats done your world is in hardmode, use the 'Pwnhammer' you get from the wall of flesh and start smashing Demon altars to pieces which will bring up a message telling you your world has been blessed with Mythril/Cobalt/Adamantite, then once you mine enough of that you can get drills, chainsaws, new weps and armour.

Hope this helps, me I have full mythril with adamantite tools (and 140 hours play time) So I've not even done it all (Not even beat any of the 'HARD' bosses)

As they say, third times the charm (phoenix blaster + meteor shot = already!?).

Now I am just getting my ass handed to me almost constantly, I have died more times in the last hour than the previous hours combined! Especially by golbats (large bats), those things hit like a truck! Just working on getting my last drill.

Well, in Hardmode everything hits like a truck. Even pixies!

God, this so much. I was maxed out at 400 hp when I entered and things are STILL handing me my ass. Wish they'd added more HP in Hardmode but still, it's damn fun.

Wall of Flesh was easy for me. The best way to fight him is to make sure you have an Anti-Gravity potion. That makes the fight TONS easier since you don't have to worry about the Lava. That + Dark Lance = Dead Boss.

Now I just have to work on finding more Adamantite to make some higher gear. Thank god for MoreTerraria so I can lazyly find all my ore
