I have this problem where if I have too many games on my shelf I get all panicky and have to get rid of a couple of games every few months so I can get my game library back down to a more "manageable" number.

I just don't have a lot of time to play games and when I do play a game, that's all I'll play for weeks maybe, so I'll start neglecting my other, older games. After awhile though I'll feel bad about not playing my other games (As weird as that sounds) and I'll try and split my time between my newer and older games. Then of course I'll buy more games and soon I'm trying to play 10 games at a time. Soon I'll get overwhelmed and I'll admit defeat and take maybe 4 of those games, evaluate their worth (Factoring in the amount of players online, whether I still find it as fun as when I first played it, etc), sell them, and again, get my collection back down to a more manageable size until I get some more games and the cycle starts over.

It's a weird habit I have not many people understand but I'm hoping I'm not the only one who feels dread when he looks at a shelf packed with games both old and new.

Nope.

I have tons of games. And because I have this strange ability to play games with literally no reply value tons of times just because I enjoy them so much, I always want to be able to go back. I just play games when I'm in the mood for them.

EDIT: Hell, when I see my collection, I actually feel happy because of the memories it brings in of stories and characters and experiences.

Overwhelmed? Nah.

But every once in a while I will sit back, observe my collection, and simply smile.

Games I own but haven't completed:

Skyrim
Skyward Sword
Red Dead Redemption
Deadspace 2
Resistance
Resistance 2

.... yea it's a little overwhelming... but I dont really feel the drive to beat games as much as I used to. I used to rent games a lot as a kid and would push myself to beat them in the 7 days blockbuster would give me.

Eh, I'm playing...

League of Legends
Combat Arms
LOTRO
BFMEII:ROTWK
Borderlands
FO:NV
Minecraft
and I have Portal, TF2, and one of those humble bundles that I haven't really played much of.

I have around 400 PS2 games, alone, so...yeah...it's kind of daunting.

But, at the same time, I've played/beaten most games I've wanted to...so w/e.

A few times I'll look at my disgustingly huge game collection and go "I have nearly ten grand worth of games. And not one of them I feel like playing for entertainment...."

Nope I don't cuz once I'm "done" with a game I take it in for credit and buy a new one. I never own more than five at a time.

3.500+ games I own but haven't completed, so yeah. Sometimes.
Hard to find enough time to complete them these days...

Well since I'm so damn picky with games, there will usually only be 2 or maybe 3 games a year that I'm interested in. So it is much easier for me and thankfully, much cheaper.

From this silly first world problem a wonderful solution arises:

1. you can now be more picky and play only the best games and

2. you can finish your old games first, so by the time you're done the games you were interested in now, will have been discounted (and patched and reviewed again, and all the cut DLC got included in a complete version), which makes it even easier to achieve #1.

Not really. I think I got over 80 PS3 games. Used to have 30ish 360 games as well but I sold them off(sold lots of PS2 games as well) when I bought the PS3.
Regret selling them since I hardly got any money at all, and since I got plenty of money there wasn't really any need to do it.

I don't buy every game I see just because it's cheap anymore though. Only bother with the games I'm actually intrested in now.

Edit: Misunderstood the OP. Apologies.

As for the real answer; Sometimes. I currently have probably ten games I haven't played, or barely started, so far, but most of the time I play a game from start to finish as soon as I get it. Don't have anything to do during the day than play games so I'm never too busy.

I have about half a dozen games that I have every intention of playing. It's just that new releases and old avourites always seem to get preferential treatment over them...

Yeah. I blame Steam sales and having a job. As a kid I had only a few games, and while I maybe got one or two new ones for Christmas and birthdays I could handle that and enjoy those games.

Now with Steam and Humble Indie Bundles I have many games (89 on steam) and loads of those I have either not played, or only for a couple hours. There are a couple I really want to play more of, but newer games and life get in the way. The amount of time I've put into Civ V and Borderlands is just pathetic based on how enjoyable I find those games.

I have more games than time. I really want to complete Mass Effect 2 and Fallout New Vegas. Both games I've actually put a fair few hours into, but they're not complete. Though my definition of complete is finishing the main quest (but not rushing through it) and not 100% everything. I rarely, if ever, complete a game.

I'm planning to go live abroad for a few months next year as a volunteer. Since I can't live without a computer I was going to bring a laptop, and use the little free time I get there to play some old classics that I really want to play like KotOR and maybe some of the Wing Commander games.

In the last month, my Steam library grew by 21 games. I've had time to play with about four of them. Not finish, just play with. TOR's pre-release play starts on Tuesday. I should be in by Wednesday. I eventually want to replay Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, in preparation for 3's release in March.

I'm not overwhelmed by my game collection, I'm liable to be buried in it.
