I was looking at Mark Hamill's page on IMDB and noticed he did some work on Swat Katz, which brought up memories of the show. Now, I was probably 5 or 6, but I remember Swat Katz was f@#king awesome! Having a team of bad-ass cats kicking so much ass was so much fun to watch...

Woah, a kids show (or just a show in general) where the cats are the good guys? Talk about kicking a cliche in the nuts.

Yeah...
I liked the chick with the airship, but I never quite got, why, exactly, they were cats. There was nothing but puns to be had from that.

I still remember that show. It was one of the coolest things on TV, and had a kickass opening theme that tended to go through my head while I played outside.

It did have an awesome opening, didn't it?
Or is it the color of nastalgia?
Great, now I want to watch at it...

Remarkably entertaining, if incredibly cheezy. All of season 1 and 2 are on Youtube, so it's not that hard to catch them again.

I'ma go there now and do just that.

No, no...it's playing through my head right now, and it's still as awesome as ever.

Don't know if I'd view the show in the same way, but I do distinctly remember a couple of things. Like the Enforcers being somewhat ineffectual, but not due to incompetence. They were simply less equipped to deal with supervillains (Dark Kat, Dr. Viper, Time Master...I could swear there was another recurring one). I can still remember the episode with the alien insect invasion in that light; the Swat Katz ultimately took out the mother insect, but working parallel with the cops (who found and took out the nest).

Also, I seem to remember their female characters being perfectly capable of badassery.

I remember liking it as a kid, but i don't remember much about it. I kind of remember the opening and what the characters look like, and that's about it.

A truly awesome cartoon made so by the sheer volume of explosions and the insane amount of property damage the Turbo Kat (T-Bone and Razor's jet) was allowed to get away with.

Woah, woah, back up. Luke Skywalker was in Swat Kats? As who- god dayum.

I only got to watch the show when Cartoon Network first came here in '96. Yeah, pretty far behind. The show was pretty awesome though, and now I have the strong urge to look for my old VHS tapes.

I never noticed anything about humanoid cats traditionally being bad guys in cartoons (admittedly, Dilbert and The Simpsons are the only cartoons I really watch these days). I never knew there was a game for it (I had a Megadrive/Genesis at the time so I didn't really pay attention to the SNES). I was a fan of SWAT Kats, so I'd have brought the game if it was on the Megadrive and I knew about it.

I wonder where AboveUp is? He should've been the first one on this thread. I've always loved season 1's intro
