Anyone else disappointed by Fringe?

I rather liked the first two episodes, the third not so much. Having said that, it's still one of the better shows on t.v. these days. I absolutely can't stand reality t.v. and sitcoms, so there's precious little on that features good writing, acting and a budget. I'd have to agree that it's starting to go in that X-Files direction, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I just hope they add a few more key characters. I was kind of hoping they'd keep that guy who was receiving messages from the Ghostnet as one of the regulars, but I guess they wrote that off as an option now.

I like the show, but knowing that Fox has a tendency to cancel most series after six episodes or less, i don´t think Fringe is going to last much longer.
They cancelled Drive after TWO episodes. WTF.

I only like the old crazy scientist character. The FBI girl is irritating, and her new employer is too willing to assist her every move. I will still give it a chance though, it is on after House after all.

I'll keep watching it purely because my television is growing reality-gameshow cobwebs.

I really wish they'd have continued Jericho.

Oh... and about Firefly. I never watched it when it was originally aired, and recently borrowed the whole series on DVD. What a fucking shame that fun, fantastically written shows only make it one season.

I'm assuming this in an American thing?
It is, us Canadians have the privilege as well. I don't know, I think the story world could be a little more eclectic, there are three major players in a story that needs more. And it is pretty dull right now. I don't know... it definitely isn't living up to the intrigue of it's promo spots.

It seems like he's jumping straight into the mythology without buttering us with all the "WTF" moments. The Pattern probably should've been left out till Ms Generic Rube In Byzantine World actually gives the impression she can handle the "Freaky Dept"(Best exemplified with the X-Files) she's been assigned to, by acting like a proper faceless, string-pulling MIB.

Maybe the G-Man should give Abrams a few tips on being the person in the know when things go psychic-clone-cyborg-shaped.

Can't really say I care either way. Which sucks because I have to wait longer to decide whether or not it's crap. It's got great ideas with the whole "tapping into the unknown/paranormal through modern science" but the characters are hit and miss, the dialogue is hammy, and they're just throwing too much at me to digest all at once. I really felt that some events in the pilot could have been easily stretched out to several more episodes. Usually when a series tries to move too fast like this, it fizzles out.

Lost was good because before it there was a flood of confusing adds. That created intrest, just telling us what the show is about (A X-Files rip-off) removes hype.

Hype is all they've got.
