Anyone else hate creating user profiles and the new memory cards/how they work?

I love my 360, but one thing that I have always hated was the fact that you must create a user profile to play on the system. Also that when you save a game to a memory card, and want to take it to a friends house, you must log in with your profile. It takes time and is unnecessary.

Whatever happened to saving a game then putting the card into another console and loading that save instantly?

Also for multiplayer you often have to create an entire new profile for players 2-4...

Is the PS3 like this? Especially with the saves.

I miss the old PSX-PS2 memory cards.

This used to work, until people started mass trading saved games on the internet for boosting gamerscore.

On the PS3 you can download a save off the net, put it on a USB stick, and copy it over to the console and play straight away. Unless something has changed very recently and stopped that. I did it a few times with saved games for Gran Turismo to unlock all of the cars to play with friends.

Thanks. What I miss is being able to take my memory card to a friends house then just being able to load a saved game off of that rather then recreate/retrieve my user profile.

Would gamerpoints and such have anything to do with this? It seems like it is more of a hassle then anything.

This profile thing is horrible. Retarded, that's what it is. I just want to be able to save my games. If a friend is over and wants to start up a game, this profile hassle is just stupid. Many games only allow one save per profile. I'm trying to do one thing, but the console forces me to do a bunch of other things. Not good.

I don't see any reason to hate the gaming profile system, i mean it gives you an identity as a player which can be recognise on multiple different games.

I have all my PS3 data backed up on my friends PS3's. All I had to do was copy all my save data onto my flash drive and copy it from their onto their consoles. Flash drives are the new memory cards.
